I have played a lot of 2's and senior football over the last 7-8 years and I can honestly say that the standard of umpiring in the reserves is generally more consistent and usually follows a more common sense approach; that I find more condusive to a free flowing game of football.
That said...
With the closeness of the competition if SM don't turn it around shortly they will struggle to be in the mix. SFX may well have been under rated by many on this forum. They look good.
IN more terrible news, Mt. Lilydale look like they will be coming back again next year. Heartbreak to clubs...

Richmond VS North Brunswick - NB by a couple of goals
Point Cook VS Manningham - Manningham by 4 goals
Swinburne VS SFX - Swinburne by 3 goals
Eley Park VS South Mornington - South Mornington by 2 goals
Just for fun, predictions for the final placings

Before the finals anyway. Just following the form lines and having a punt.
What an interesting round of footy... South Mornington talk it up, get flogged and get in to fights again... but of course someone else started it, again!
The Eley Park Vs BHN game was skilful in patches with some peculiar umpiring decisions that went both ways. In the end I would say BHN got...
North Brunswick over Point Cook - 6 Goals
Swinburne just over Richmond Central - 19 points
Box Hill to guts out a win at home over Eley - 3 points after the siren in Pennys hundredth.
Manningham to strong for Chadstone - Pick a number
South Mornington and SFX - Think I will go with home...
I say Eley Park the club house leader, partially because I have more knowledge on Eley Park than on Swinburne and St. Francis Xavier and all assumptions at this point are based on very early form lines but judging by the clearances to Eley Park they have recruited well and had a solid team last...
D4 has continued to improve over the last few years as has been demonstrated by the success of the sides going up the ranks from D4. Point Cook will be a strong team at home and in the big group that will have a blanket thrown over them in the fight for finals this year. Honestly the teams that...
South Mornington were involved in a number of incidents Vs Box Hill North in the practise match as well and certainly initiated a number of incidents by sniping or hitting first. They don't like it very much when they get hit back though... Box Hill North had three players at least who got...
I play for Box Hill North and have for a number of years. In fairness most teams in the twos can at times shift their focus from the footy. If North Brunswick won without Number 5 against South Mornington I am even more impressed.
In my experience Chadstone or Syndal Tally Ho have always been an interesting side to deal with over the last five or so years.
Their committee and off field supporters have been good, honest, hard working and reliable people who have always seemed to want what is best for the club. They have...
So have followed the forum for a lot of years under different pseudonyms but thought I would join the conversation under my own name or nickname anyway. Interesting first couple of rounds this season. Here is my prediction for the ladder in 2011.
1. Eley Park
2. Swinburne Uni
3. North...
