Hey guys, been a huge lurker on Bigfooty for years but don't often post.
I was curious about our team last week and found out a quirky stat. Our average games played was 65.3, if you take out Mundy it was 51.9.
Gold Coast in the first game of their history fielded a team with an average games...
What's your problem dude? he wasn't our best player on the field, he did look good in the opening few minutes but he's clearly not ready for a full game of AFL. Just because I'm not having a meltdown over the loss does not mean I'm a troll.
Why are people dropping random players (Clarke) for no reason other than they played poorly in a game where EVERYONE played poorly. We may as well just keep Fyfe in and change everyone else, even Fyfe played poorly by his standards.
They're some good ins, but I'd probably keep Mora in but demote him back to the sub. He's been playing some good footy there and tbh I felt the reason he underperformed today was because he was tired.
Guys the loss was bad but I think it was probably necessary (although I would have preferred it came against someone decent). We have looked a little complacent in recent weeks and I feel that we were heading down the path of a poor game.
My point is let's not meltdown until we play Carlton...
5 Fyfe (Because he put a lot of effort into an attempt to spoil in the last)
4 De Boer (Because he spent the least time on ground)
3 Griffin (Second least amount of time on the ground)
2 Duffield (He was okay and I'll give him some votes for his 150th)
1 Barlow (He tried)
Every year there is always the thought of "Could a team from outside the 4 win it?" Tbh I believe that this year it is less likely than previous years, in 2011 Carlton were just as strong as West Coast and finished 5th because one of the top 5 had too, 2012 West Coast were in the top 4 for a...
Am I the only one who don't see North as any sort of threat? Even if they climb there way into the top 4? As many have mention they beat Sydney when they were at their worst, they also beat Hawthorn when they were in a vulnerable state, the Port win was impressive and they also beat Freo after...
But we have scored more points than 13 other teams, including the team you support. I know I would rather watch my team kick 100 and win by 50 than kick 80 and lose by 30.
But if you tank you can win more balls by extending the gap between your ladder position and your opponents. For example, if Freo were to decide this season to be a bust in round 8ish (when we were 4-4) we could easily just lose games against the teams who are lower on the ladder than us...
What if the bottom team wins 1 or 2 matches for the season against teams right above them on the ladder, They may only have 2 or 3 balls in the draft as opposed to a team who can win on their day (eg the Bulldogs) but is still very raw and inexperienced who could end up with 10+ balls through a...
We'd be averaging nearly 100 points though and in a season like this, that's extremely high. But I guess Hawthorn and Sydney (probably) will tend to do a better job in that department given their gameplans and firepower.
