Of all the players that might be available at our pick this kid excites me the most. A fast brain and clean hands more than makes up for half a yard of pace.
Age, length of contract and $$$ would be the main reasons there weren't a number of clubs lining up for Jacko.. Never understood peoples expectations on what we were going to realistically get for him. If the shoe was on the other foot would we take on a contract like his and offer higher picks...
Unfortunately unless the player manager landscape changes this will never happen. Hence why they hold the balance of power we need them more than they need us. Especially the big agencies like Connors Sports Management.
Good take King, I think his reading of the play makes up for any mobility concerns. One on one strength needs a bit of work but another summer in the gym will go a long way.
People will laugh at me but I see a young Mark Ricciuto in him. Big shoes I know, maybe half a yard less explosive but similar attributes. I’ll see myself out 😊
Anyone casting doubts on what the ceiling will be on this 18 year old kid is setting themselves up for egg on there face. He just looked better and better each time he took the field, he's competitive far from slow and he's not opposed to physicality, any reference to the contrary is simply...
He needs to play next year, thought there were oppurtunities this season for a game or two but it didn't seem to dent his confidence. Another full preseason and he should be cherry ripe. If we sleep on this kid for too long we'll only end up losing him. I'm very excited about his prospects.
I'd keep Macrae over CD if given the choice but admit they're close. I thought both were gifted contracts longer than I liked at the time. The game has gone to another level speed wise and there's less room to hide excess mids as part time forwards etc. We need to get more games into Sanders and...
I know I might be in the minority but I'd be inclined to keep Bedendo for another year. He's improving week on week in the role he's playing and starting to benefit with some continuity. I'd tap Cleary on the shoulder before Dom.
After hours of stress trying to secure tickets entering codes that were not accepted we managed to get 12 tickets. The issue is we are separated in blocks of 4, 2, 2, 2, 2 and all over ground. Does anyone know if Hawthorn fans had the same issues?
Time to unleash the Buss I say, no better time than this week. He was very good yesterday as the third tall along side Keath/JOD and has earned his chance. The kid has a great balance of attack/defence and a load of footy smarts. He's Cofield and Khamis in one player.
I agree, he’s bubbling away with the odd shot of lava here and there but when (not if) he explodes it will be beyond scary. Let hope it’s in the Grand Final 😊
Buku can make me a little nervous at times specially defending the crafty types but he’s improving all the time and stays in for me. Freijah for Coffield is the change for me. JOD will need to bide his time for now IMO.
I didn’t think Daniel was bad per say and I did like the balance a little better (not convinced Buku & Coffield can share the backline when Lobb/Jones play) but CDs days in defence are done for me. He’s too easy to isolate from an opposition point of view, he’s too indecisive (was a strength)...
This makes me very nervous? Lobb moving back and the emergence of Buku, JOD and hopefully Buss I think there plenty to work with. If Jones can stay fit for another 12 months we should be good. Unless Pratt has some inside knowledge I’d be leaving this one alone.
100% agree. Garcia is the one we need to get into the team somehow. I’m afraid CDs days are numbered. Won’t be surprised if we try to persuade him to look elsewhere at the end of the season. Hope I’m wrong.
That same Norm Smith Medalist couldn't get a kick in a bar fight after being targeted by opposition teams and we needed to make changes one of which resulted in Dale moving back and JJ forward. I'd argue playing some time as a defensive half forward has made JJ a better defender since moving...
