It’s more the drive and luck going your way again. I’ll be surprised if you make finals going off the past two premiers & their age demographic. I think you’ll bounce back quick enough though and your young kids will help that.
It seems like the equivalent of losening up lending laws so more can be bought on credit. I can see the AFL equivalent of the sub prime mortgage crisis & all the other clubs will foot the bill to bail out the first few clubs who it stuff up royally.
They have no KPF’s though. Hipwood isn’t the main man so I would be shocked if he steps up trying to be one.
A lot of grunt coming from the old guns, we have seen that drop off two years in a row after winning the flag. I expect them to regress while they find replacements for the oldies &...
I’m not sure we need it. The only teams that don’t have assets are the ones trading futures. If they open up 2 years, they will dig bigger holes.
Most top ups trades don’t look good for the top-up team in hindsight unless they win a flag & that’s not an easy thing.
The current system of...
Ras has earned a decent crack at a senior spot in 2025 just from his WAFL form. His AFL career so far has basically been the sub or a few games and out again. All players are better from a 4-5 game block and he needs that to adjust to the pace, his biggest weakness. If he doesn't perform...
Common sense. Sometimes if there is a 50/50 or even 10% chance you will lose, it’s much cheaper to settle. Lawyers make a fortune either way and if the claim is not just completely made up, the judge isn’t going to award the company / club damages & legal bills on top of the Victory...
I’m optimistic that next season will be fun to death ride the Hawks & Carlton. If they continue to win, WC get shafted with their pick choice and the arrogance of the Hawks will at least have some silver lining. They could have held pick 3.
If both Hawks & Carlton shit the bed, we still get...
They are though.
Hawks had 2 finalists twice, we played three. Our finalists made GF, Prelim, Knockout. They had Prelim & semi.
It’s a fact that they had an easier draw than us just on opponents alone. It’s not even subjective.
The grounds are all tiny though. They are the 4 smallest ground in the country that play more than 3 games a year. The opening game at the MCG would almost get more attendance than those 4 combined.
Why wouldn't they be sellouts if they were the first 4 games of the season & then the rest?
We were the only team who had a win against the opening round teams who had a head start. i think it was 4 games.
You smashed us in the first quarter while we got rid of the rust. You just started the year poorly after playing the GF the year before, we got lucky on where your team was at...
It just stuffs up so many things with the way the AFL do it and comprises the draw even further for bugger all. It's not going to grow the game, any traction they get disappears just as quick and it just pisses off all the fans in the other states.
If they have to have it, the simple solution...
We had your measure without a few umpire howlers and we were far from full strength either.
We actually showed a lot through out the year and have added Bolton rather than shed best 22 players.
You’ll need a miracle to go past us next season.
Do you even know your own players?
He played 9 games in a row, got injured, came back for another 5 games and got a season ending shoulder injury after that. Played zero VFL games.
He’s now your best small forward.
The AFL changes rules all the time that impact teams. Just because it’s a Big Vic team, they decide to leave the broken system for another 12 months.
When Freo had an NGA coming through in 2021 they changed the matching rules that season & could only match bids after 40 after 4-5 years in the...
Yep,
With it so hard to tell the difference between the bird logo's and the clear plagerism / copyright problems, the AFL should just get rid of all the Bird teams.
The game has evolved over the past 150 years. A lot of players, coaches, teams and administrators have influenced this evolution. Claiming your one link in the chain is more important than others isn’t how evolution or even chains work.
Gerard Neesham had Freo playing modern possession footy...
Carlton shedding players is cap related & not because you have huge depth. You traded your third best goal kicker & an inside mid who played nearly every game (plus 6th highest goal kicker)
Your depth is now worse.
