My God the biceps on WAP are practically Boomer-esque!!!!
They’re enormous in that photo. Starting to look more and more appropriate that he got the famous no.29.
Geez I’d love a week or so on or around that beach right now. Looks glorious.
On a football note Robbie appears to have had a very solid pre-season thus far. Giving himself every opportunity to be next in line as that small forward we’ve lacked since Thomas.
I was genuinely disappointed when we traded Kaitlyn Ashmore to the Hawks. Was a good player for us but as others have noted she hasn’t kicked on really. Sliding doors moment for her maybe. Would have been a better player under our system.
Hi guys apologies for the intrusion. I’ve just called your membership department to buy my Sydney based Hawks’ nuffie brother a membership for next year as a Chrissie present.
Now apparently your only game in Sydney next year is opening round. My options I’m told are either $190 silver...
With Griff still wearing non-contact gear that’s a quarter of our list injured or being managed. Not ideal however with most due back in Feb/Jan not too bad. CCJ the main concern here clearly.
As I noted in the training thread I’ve loved what he’s brought to the training track in just his first two months of an AFL career. Clearly a confident kid, doesn’t mind poking the bear and with his agility and size could be anything once he gets a few preseasons into him. Very good vibes about...
I’m loving the fact that multiple reports have Whitlock going out of his way to be an absolute pest and irritate our forwards. Scotty Thompson would be proud. Not bad for an 18 year old 2 months into his AFL career. Have a very good feeling about this kid.
Hopefully nothing serious. I recall Eddie Ford picked up an injury in the very last training session of the year last year. Awful luck. Last thing anyone needs, especially for Pauly who’s had a great preseason is to pick up a niggle just before clocking off for the year.
His response when told that people around the club were comparing FOS to the way he goes about things both onfield and off was hilarious 🤣
“Yeah ahhh I haven’t actually heard that once… from anyone.”
I reckon the interviewer was set up deliberately to get a reaction and Georgie took the bait lol.
An interesting article on the AFL website today about young Suns’ ruckman Ned Moyle.
Noted that the three ruckmen picked in the 2024 All-Australian squad – Max Gawn, Tristan Xerri and Darcy Cameron played a combined total of nine games across their first three full seasons in the AFL.
Plenty...
I’ve no problem with this. We have such a glut of kids right now I think this is draft capital very well spent.
Let’s say also I have infinitely less issue with giving away our 2nd rounder for Caleb than I did when we did the same for CCJ. Now THAT was a disastrous trade which I called the day...
He’s going to be such an asset to our backline. To have someone there with his elite foot skills, football nous, poise under pressure and experience will be extremely valuable. Especially when you compare it to LMac’s hoof and hope strategy.
Knowing he frees up Colby as well to move further up...
Thanks for the reports guys. Some real quality write ups there. Most of the players I was keen for comment on have been spoken for although I was keen to know how Powell looked today.
Refers to thread title “Swingman”
Also the best education for a skinny 18 year old KPF would be going up against an experienced player like Larks. Let’s give young Matty a year or so to develop before we begin questioning where he fits into the scheme of things. From what I’ve seen in his...
Regarding WilPhil I’ll refer to Sphynx’s excellent post earlier in this thread about the dearth of on ballers in our side with elite defensive qualities after Wardlaw. For mine I’d rate Will as 2nd to George in this area. He offers very important balance, an absolute animal in the contest plus...
Right now I see serious midfield depth in our team and I’m loving it.
I’d personally rate in terms of locks for centre bounce clearances the following on-ball options:
1st choice:
LDU
Sheezel
2nd choice (one to move into starting 3)
Parker
Wardlaw
3rd choice (first rotation)
Simpkin
McKercher...
Agreed. If George gets dropped there’d be more clubs sniffing around him than a cackle of hyenas.
That’s not to say that George is above any player that warrants demotion should his form warrant it (though one would argue this mantra doesn’t appear to apply to LMac) but he is an absolute demon...
Congrats to a legend Jas!!!!
Ash would have multiple other club champion awards in any other era but just a bit unlucky to be playing alongside the GOAT.
Not knowing too much about the strengths and weaknesses of our new highpriced swingman Matty Whitlock I’ve watched some of his highlight vids and one thing that’s struck me is there didn’t appear to be a lot of contested marking. For those that might have seen a bit more of him is this something...
