Alright, here’s a random ANZ-related question that I’ll put out there: what’s happening with naming rights? ANZ’s agreement runs out at the end of the year and there’s been no announcement about renewal. Given that it will likely be demolished in the next two or three years, should we expect it...
If McAvaney's "Mark! MARK! MAAARK! ROHAN! IT IS UNBELIEEEVABLE!" doesn't take its place in the pantheon of great Swans commentary moments, then we're doing it wrong.
What an unbelievable finish (again). All that Chambers had to do was see Cronk and the Storm had it. But the Sharks put on some magnificent attacking pressure all night (the Storm did incredibly to hold them out and stay in it) and thoroughly deserved this win. Well done to them.
Well done, Doggies fans. You played really well today (and for the past four weeks) and have earned this. We can whinge about the dodgy umpiring decisions all that we want (and we will, don't worry), but the reality is that perfect umpiring probably sees a smaller margin, not a different result...
Now that Pavlich is officially a "retired legend", there can be no debate as to who should eventually present Fremantle with their first premiership cup. Pavlich is sort of the player around whom young clubs construct their entire identities. All the best to him in retirement.
I thought that Fremantle was in Victoria.
I called the five-minute warning "mixing up the clock", and thought that it was just Ten putting up some random times to keep some interest for the viewers at home. It was only when I went to my first game and the siren didn't go at the 20 minute mark...
Granville great for the Cowboys. Milford playing well for the Broncos. Thurston yet to impose himself. Shaping up as a cracker of a Grand Final, actually.
I couldn't believe it when we won in 2012. How could we beat a team that had Buddy wreaking havoc all year? And then I watched the highlights, and saw how all of our unsung players (Morton, O'Keefe, Mattner, Kennedy, et al.) had stood up. A real team effort.
In 2013, the pundits thought that you...
Hawks by 15. Big-match experience and the MCG advantage should get them home. The Eagles could win if things go their way in the 2nd and 3rd Quarters. Content for either side to win. Should be a cracker of a match.
Skilton, Lockett, Kelly, Bazza. It would not be an exaggeration to suggest that Adam Goodes is even more iconic to our club than those legends. One of the all-time great players, indelibly associated with the Sydney Swans, and one of the most important figures in the history of Australian...
Absolutely delighted by our effort today. Still the tantalising "what if" factor given that we blew so many chances, but we look pretty good with some good players to come back in next week. Would've liked the week off and the home prelim, but we're not done and dusted yet.
Well done, guys. We had our chances, and I'm proud of our effort, but your execution was far better. So congratulations, and all the best against Hawthorn/Bulldogs/Adelaide in two weeks' time.
Judd and Cousins were the bane of every side in the competition from 2005 to 2007. The game has seen few players better than Judd, who will surely challenge for the mantle of the best in the modern era. His career deserved a better end than this, but it's a career worth celebrating nonetheless.
I didn't know where to post this, so I picked "general discussion".
Anyhow, I'm a journalism student at a local university. I'm writing a feature article on e-cigarettes and vaping, and I'd really like to hear from someone with personal experience in the subject (either current users, or used...
The whole "Sydney vs Melbourne" thing going on in the commentary box has become played out and stale now, in my opinion.
Sydney has better beaches, better waterways, better weather, and better scenery.
It also has Parramatta Road.
So let's call it a tie and move on with the game at hand...
Agree with ManWithNoName, Yidaki, et al.
Whilst the ideal thing (cliched to say but it is probably what he would have wanted) would be to not cancel the Test Match, it should be left up to each individual player as to whether they want to play or don't, and no adverse judgments should be made...
