I agree, especially BT. Tell me the last time you have seen a team with 4 wins and 11 losses with a % of nearly 100. BT definitely competitive in D2 and would be a shame if they were to relegate to D3.
With the top 4 spots and double chances cemented we turn our sites to the bottom sides and the relegation battle - 4 teams battling it out, all separated by 4 pts, one slip up could cost your team a spot in D2 next year;
Powerhouse - 20pts, 70.05%. Last two games MHSOB & UHS
BT - 18pts, 92.38%...
This is why the VAFA needs to make goalies a priority in all senior men divisions as it can make or break a game the decisions that they make and when there are volunteers from either team, a fair level of "cheating" goes on.
Rarely see a field umpire brave enough to overturn a volunteer...
You would have absolutely no idea how prepared the "Bulleen boys" are you parrot. Your intel stretches as far as the Vafa website and this thread clearly.
You're just another deer with no eyes. Parade are a good outfit, they will touch up a lot of teams this year.
Glen Eira in their last two games beat two teams playing finals this weekend and will be playing D3 footy next year - geez I at least hope those boys had a good time in Italy.
Ladder prediction:
West Brunswick - Strongest from last year, looking to build on last years efforts and go one further
Prahran - Always a competitive outfit, will be contesting for the premiership this year to go right back where they came from
Glen Eira - New to the mix, unknown quantity...
I'm assuming you boys down at Eltham have been eating a lot of dicks the amount of finals you have choked in.
2012 you finished second and went out in straight sets...probably a bit scared to leave division 2, you've set up camp and refuse to leave.
I tell you what, next year when you come to...
You have to admit that Eltham are the biggest rabble of a club in D2 this year. I just hope the snakes can muster some wins in the later stages of the year and send Eltham down to D3 so we don't have to deal with them next year.
St Johns look very hard to beat - but are known for choking at the serious end.
Preston and WB are the obvious dangers, YV the dark horse for me.
Very young, quick, move the ball well and can kick a score.
Eltham vs YV - YV will not let this one slip with a loss sending them back to the pack
Richmond vs St Johns - Pretty routine this one for St Johns, could get ugly for the snakes
BT vs Emmaus - Must win for both clubs to stay in touch with top 4, BT yet to lose at home
Preston vs MHSOB - Preston...
Agreed. The top 3 look like they will cement themselves in the finals early on in the piece. Be interesting to see who fills the 4th spot with both YV and MHSOB having slow starts. Eltham have put themselves right out of the picture. Bulleen sitting with 12 of possible 16 points but are not...
YV vs St Johns - YV play their home ground too well
Turtles vs WB - Hit a speed bump last week did the turtles, but look for them to get back on track
MHS vs Emmaus - I don't expect Emmaus to be winning too many this year
PB vs BT - Bulleen to flat out bully a young Preston side
Good luck to...
BT will go back to back this year! They look to have an even stronger side than last year, still very young and fit.
Look for them to pants Friars Rd1.
I think there will be 4-5 U19 eligible taking the field on Sunday, however there have been over 10 during the year. The youngsters skill and run will be crucial on the big stage!
Been a very interesting year on the forum this year.
Bad luck to Eltham who were clearly the second best side during the year to not get promoted. Maybe a bit over oared by the big stages?
Expect BT's long pre season to last them one more game as they roll Prahran with ease.
Florence to stand...
Bullants are flying down at Ajani. They're definitely unstoppable, the rest are just making up the numbers. The game Prahran and OP was abysmal and as far as I'm concerned neither team deserved to progress based on yesterday!
Saw BT vs SMD and frankly the footy BT were playing La trobe would have stood a chance. Just wondering if BT taking the foot off the pedal leading into the final home and away games *resting players* cough, cough. Must have a bad cold!
Hahaha all these people standing up for this so called scribe is hilarious! If you're going to do a job why not do a good one. Some of the utter nonsense he writes in the record is abysmal!! Easily the worst scribe in the VAFA if not metropolitan football leagues.
You're having a go at BT when they're on top and have dropped the one game this year (unjustified) I'm bagging a bloke who writes crock on footy when he can count the amount of touches he gets on one hand (justified).
Had Rich Hummerston (Hummer) debut in the seniors against the Bullants yesterday, Needless to say he struggled to get a kick!! Stick to writing your crock in the record mate. No Bullants in the top 7? Must be mentally challenged Hummer.
Has anyone else noted a trend in games being really close until the three quarter time and then sides are kicking away? Maybe fitness will be a key component to success this season in D2 footy.
