I think Vic would be looking for any good excuse to pick him, but he hasn't had a great start to the season in Grade. Made a ton on the weekend though so hopefully gets going now. Missed out in both innings of the Vic 2nd XI game this week unfortunately.
Peake did get a game however and looked...
Rioli + Picks 51 and 61 > Picks 6 and 23
Bolton + Pick 14 > Picks 11, 12 and 18
Picks 6 + 18 > Pick 2
1, 2, 10, 11, 20, 23, 24
Lalor, FOS, Travaglia, Lindsay, Hotton, KPF and then flip 24 for a future first on night 2 of the draft (Take Davidson with 70).
Peace out.
Rioli - 6 and 20
Baker - 13
Bolton - 9 and 10 (or he stays)
Graham - will be what will be, hopefully our recent counter-offer means his contract has been bumped up a bit and we get band 3.
13 is a great result for Baker if goes as reported. Other 2 GC/Freo simply have to pay up if they want...
Konstanty still waiting to hear whether he will get a new deal at Sydney. Pick 20 in the 2022 draft, small forward who we were quite keen on at the time by all accounts. Would be a good cheap/free pick up imo.
FOS is the man for me. Given there remains no stand out ‘elite’ prospect, he remains the one guy who still might be that based on everything he produced prior to this year being wiped out for him. I think he’s worth the chance based on that upside.
Showed glimpses of that class on the weekend...
Understand the angst around not picking Davidson in the MSD, he was a favourite on here certainly leading up to it. In reality though we desperately needed talls, which is what we did.
Taking 3 in the MSD is difficult because unless you want to be complete campaigners and cut a kid after 6...
Big no to trading next years first, should be off the table.
Accepting Baker is gone, I think I've landed in the trade Daniel and keep Bolton camp. If you end up with 3 first rounders inside 15 for those 2 I think we are very well placed. Not sure I would trade all 3 but I think we need to be...
FWIW I think its pretty likely Naismith and Ryan both get dropped for Nank and Lynch.
Balta to play second ruck, made a good impact when he went in there second half last weekend. Lynch also limited minutes so they'll probably want Kosi as the extra forward.
Gibcus Young Vlastuin
Rioli Balta Brown
Short Prestia Ross
Clarke Koschitzke Baker
Bolton Lynch Martin
Nankervis Taranto Hopper
Broad Banks Sonsie Ryan
SUB: Graham
EMG: Dow, Trezise Pickett, Coulthard, McIntosh, Grimes, MRJ, Bauer, Cumberland
I'd like us to end the year looking something like...
Juddy is a small half foward type, they've talked him up as playing a Kane Lambert type role. Think he will get a decent run at it but awkard price.
Ryan probably is our R1 for the next little while with Nank + Soldo out injured so he's a good bet in terms of JS at the very least, even if Soldo...
Young I probably wouldn't bother with, unless he absolutely blows it out of the water he's treading water until guys come back from injury and Tarrant for one isn't far away, scoring potential low as well you'd imagine.
If we want to play a second ruck/third forward Ryan is a much better...
Great get by you guys, I'm sure we were disappointed he wanted to head home to SA otherwise we would have gladly kept him around.
If you listen to anyone from Richmond talk about Sheds, be it players or coaches, I don't think i've ever heard anyone spoke of with the respect and admiration he's...
Full steam ahead trying to get both I say. Said it over on the Hopper thread on the main board but we've clearly been gearing up for an agressive trade period for a while. We've lost Astbury, Houli, Caddy, Lambert, Edwards without bringing much in, Jack/Cotch to go around again on greatly...
I think the club has clearly been setting up for an aggressive trade period for a couple of years now, both with how they've managed the salary cap and how they've drafted.
They have gone hard on the draft the last 3-4 years and brought a lot of young talent in, there is already a lot of young...
Felt bad for the kid, you could see the pressure of knowing he was sliding a bit from where he was talked about going earlier in the year was weighing on him. The Hawthorn pick before ours Connors was telling everyone to be quiet because they might pick Sonsie and then they took Macdonald out of...
Those guys all missed big chunks of last season and dusty was still playing forward quite a bit pre injury. Pretty well publicised that Dusty largely plays and puts himself where he sees fit, the last couple of years that has mostly been taking the CBAs and then drifting forward to the goal...
Dusty is back to playing weight I believe, and some suggestion he could spend a little more time in the midfield than the last couple of years. A big 6 month break could be quite beneficial after 4 or 5 pretty crazy years, he's a big watch in pre-season games imo
Reckon I've found a team with Neale at M5 where I'm happy with other lines. Def I've got 3 usual premos, Coleman a pretty good candidate to be one of the few breakout defenders we seem to see each year imo. I think rookies down back are somewhat promising. I actually quite like the fwd...
