Great to see Leigh Irons lead the Kilmore reserves to a flag, Kilmore’s first in the NFNL. Had his young teenage son as his team manager, a special moment for them and the club. Leigh is putting his hand up to take on the role as President but will continue playing. He is an absolute...
The local council must be making a killing off all the parking tickets being handed out in the vicinity of Sydney Crescent, I wonder if the NFNL are getting a percentage? My son who played last weekend came back to his car after the game to find he had a ticket for the heinous offence of parking...
Junior finals have been played at Kilmore. Once you turn left off Plenty Road and get onto the Ring Road, you don’t hit another set of traffic lights if you take the back route off the Hume up O’Grady’s Road to JJ Clancy Reserve.
If you talking about the best surface of any ground north of the Yarra, you must only be talking about metro ovals. Kilmore’s JJ Clancy reserve is exclusively a football oval with no turf or concrete pitch. It is well drained and a beautiful, expansive oval to play football on. The new club...
Leigh Irons and his family and supportive friends are one of the best things to happen to the Kilmore FNC. Along with the coach Paul Derrick and his family and support crew, the Kilmore FNC is in good hands for years to come.
Why bother having contracts then? They are a legally binding document and should only be broken if circumstances change significantly after it’s been signed. Even then, a very good argument should have to be proven to break the signed agreement.
Wow, that’s pretty amazing that the league boss publicly berated the umpires, particularly after the push to respect umpires and crack down on abuse from spectators. What did they league boss actually say?
Kilmore two’s have only played one match against Lalor, the second match was forfeited. Kilmore’s percentage is 171% against 116% for the Hawks. I don’t reckon the one less match against Lalor would account for the massive difference in percentage between these two teams.
How can you legally throw big $$$ around in Div 3 when the salary cap is $66,000? Getting a big source of income into a club is great, but it’s not the answer when you can’t legitimately use it to pay high priced recruits.
Yep, the Goat burst onto the scene with some inflammatory comments but seemed to burn himself out with a whimper. I doubt that the Goat would roll his sleeves up and help out a community club, I think he‘s more suited to lobbing anonymous potshots.
The retirement of most of their backline hurt them, being McIntyre, Moran, Pete De Sousa, Scott Swindells, and Ciaran Moran. Kinnear headed over to Romsey to be closer to where he was living and Chapman went up to Longwood. The biggest loss was Ryall, who went with the club’s blessing. The...
Nope, the only scenario would be if it has been lodged and not processed yet and not visible on the system. Highly unlikely scenario though, I’m sure the Demon’s would be shouting it from the rooftops if they had signed him.
Unable to confirm it, but was told yesterday that Harvey had signed with Mernda on Friday. Nothing in the clearances as yet, but if true will be a huge get for the Demons.
Great win by Kilmore today Deniliquingoat, managed to beat the previously unbeaten Hawks who were second on the ladder. Best players as follows: 3 votes - Leigh Irons, 2 votes Mick Marrett, 1 vote Adam Milne.
Wow, big entrance onto the Big Footy scene tonight Deniliquingoat. At least spell Marrett’s name right if you’re going to have a ping at him. Don’t know what your issue, is but Kilmore are more than happy having these three club stalwarts being around to help guide the young talent coming...
Borderline, but not panic stations if they don’t. The club realises they lost a lot of experience through retirements and fully supported Chris Ryall heading off to a Div 1 club. Paul Derrick has the total support of the committee and is a great coach to nurture the junior talent.
Just trying to work this one out regarding Macedon. It’s a “boys” club, but spending a bit of money on their netballers. Seems like a bit of a contradiction.
They did pick up a handfull of handy players and have elevated a number of youngsters who went within a kick of playing off in a Div 2 grand final last year. Yes, they may slip back a bit this season, but will be good to get some senior games under the belts of the young blokes.
Makes for an interesting discussion Trent. What happens if the family move from year to year due to the parents work circumstances, which club becomes their ‘home‘ club enabling them to become a one pointer? You could even have the hypothetical where a kid whose Dad is in the army at Puckapunyal...
Are you absolutely 100% sure not one of the players knew that their match payment/benefits provided was totally above board and within the salary cap? You could be right, but this decision can help other clubs by pushing back on players who are trying to inflate their playing price by showing...
