is not always about flags especially in a volatile market like sydney. yes they would have prefered to jag a flag or two but Franklin marketability over the 10 years has been priceless for the swans. they do it all over again even if they know he could only get them to few losing GFs.
almost never worth it these 7/8 year deals. kelly and conglio definitely worth it when they signed it but a couple of injury interrupted years made both deals look crap at that time and injuries happen to everyone.
only lance franklyn deal was worth it looking back, maybe alistair lynch?
you refering to the game in geelong later on in the year? hawks had no chance, all but one or two of those blokes played on that ground before? having said that, their coach have been done there before probably could have change a game plann a bit.
for sure the game is moving more toward the mobile key forwards than the big lumbering Tom Hawkins type but height is still height, henry plays tall with his leap and mark but doesnt hurt to have a tall mobile forward who dont get any shorter when everyone gets tired.
probably worth very little but the last two losses to the hawks and the dogs will leave a bad taste in the mouth especially if he was contemplating to renew end of last year.
you described literally how you wont do well in a trade if he performs well but cant get in the best backline in the league. he be sought after and unless gws planning to finish close to bottom they wont get any pre season draft leverages.
most likely take whichever team he wants to go to if...

the only...
depend where the 2 picks are, we shown recently we hit our mid to low range picks more than the high ones. if the recruiters reckon they can jag two decent talents this years i say do it.
problem with sdk is you want your key backs to be the same week and week out, using him the ruck you need someone to replace him at the back. So what role is this pinch hit key back do when SDK is not at the ruck?
i reckon from the season just past, tom dekoning does a good job at first ruck and restding playing the extra tall at forward. another reason why i think the offers will come for him end of next year if he has another similar year minus the injury.
you think reid not getting decent "compo" from a trade with any other club?
and the part about LDU aint leaving, WC supporters been saying the same thing regarding reid.
and no JHF never fit in from day one, with the issues he had with team mates and ice baths which ended him requesting a...
