The guy next to me at training yesterday asked him how far away he was and Henry said two weeks. I assume that meant he’ll join full training in two weeks.
Given how much running they do it will be interesting to see how much extra conditioning he needs.
Thanks Joffa. I got there at 10 and Carroll was doing midfield drills opposed to Owens. Didn’t notice Dow so glad to hear he was out there. I heard Henry mention he was two weeks away. I assume that’s from full training.
You’re right about Dodson. Looks strong for a first year ruck.
We’ll...
Had continual ankle problems. I thought he looked great in his first pre season but never got continuity. Hopefully he can stay fit and see how far he can go. He's got good size and strength.
This kid's a jet. He'll be the rookie that plays every game this year. Could play anywhere. Will probably start between half back and wing but there's no reason he couldn't go into the middle or even half forward.
In a couple of years we'll be glad we didn't have pick 5&6 (thanks Higgo).
You've also got to keep in mind that some of the players picked in the MSD have jobs that they have to give up. Some might have to move interstate. It's a fair commitment when you might get cut after six months and not have a job to go back to.
If we needed him to play this week, yes. If we are looking at him being a 15 year player, no. Given that we knew about it prior to the draft they will be able to tailor his pre season to ensure he’s good to go.
I remember when Aussie Jones started Stan Alves told him him to take the game and try to run around players. His logic was that you might get caught occasionally but that was how you’d learn what you could get away with.
It could be a similar mindset. Take the difficult option, try to hit the...
Butler had two lots of ankle surgery last off season. He was one of a few that didn't come good until the end of the year. That coincided with our better form.
This is from The Age. Apparently there’s nothing wrong with the fixture. I don’t know what you’re all complaining about.

The impact of an unequal fixture on clubs’ success is overblown, according to AFL chief executive Andrew Dillon, who admitted he was...
It certainly hasn't helped but keep in mind that from 2003-2012 we were the only team in the comp that won at least 12 games every season.
One bad year and prime time, free to air, MCG games are taken off us.
Carlton and Essendon can be as bad as they want for as long as they want and they're...
From memory we had two groups last year. The smalls in one and the talls in the other. If Battle couldn't beat the Titanic he must have been struggling.
