Not imminent, more like done. Met his parents today, seem like a fantastic down to earth family with good banter. Proper genuine people, he has fit in really well with the group and who knows what a full time environment will do for him. We don't realise how tough it is for these kids who don't...
Threadmarks: Training report 29/11/24 - replaces scare
Walking a lap now, hoping it's just a serious cramp. Limping a bit, left leg I think. Maybe just wanted 6 weeks off over Christmas instead of 4. He seems ok, the ground where he punch 4 times could need replacing as reports coming through its already yellowing off and not in a good way.
Edit...
Hugo hurt during running. Walked back then tried again, 300m in went down again- angry and hurt AF. Thought it was cramp at first but was punching the ground in anger. Plenty of trainers around him, looks very proppy but at least up walking now.
I really should put thoughts down straight after training. I'm not old enough to be forgetting so much, but here I am... forgetting... anyway on with it.
I think I said briefly during the session that the senior boys were really vocal and there was great intensity. That was maintained...
Not 100% sure but my memory is telling me that they found an injury with his back during testing at the combine. I don't think I'm making that up but I could be thinking about someone completely different.
Travaglia 5, Dodson 38, Boyd 50, Barrat 28. Elwood wearing 39. Boxshall has 33 and 37 looks like Said. 39 is Elwood, Tauru isn't out there. All newbies bar Boyd are training separately.
Just on Boyd, a lot shorter than Moose but built like the proverbial - the definition of an immovable object...
If we are smart enough with our salary cap, there's no reason why we can't afford everyone. We've been paying it forward for a decade, surely we can figure it out.
Just on that final as well. He got 7 touches and 4 tackles in just over a quarter of footy. He came on against a rampant Hawthorn being played out of position. He's not the best choice as a sub, and almost noone would be able to impact a game like that as a sub. I would honestly be very...
As far as I know, I think the AFL only pays half if the player is medically retired due to concussion.
It would be good to know though as it would add $250k to our salary cap this year based on a $600k wage.
What do you mean, no? Dow was offered a crappy contract by Blues and they couldn't retain him. You really think they'd offer a couple of rookies train on positions before Jack based on his obvious talents? I'd suggest not.
It almost certainly was salary cap relief, much like Owies, Kennedy and...
Yeah Tauru was definitely there. After they watched the time trial the boys came out and watch main training tmfrom the sidelines. Alix came out a little later and stood under the marquee. He was most certainly there.
I'm possibly way off the mark but what if he was delisted the same way Membrey was. I still think this quote has a hidden meaning.
"...we wish him well for the next opportunity in his career,” Carlton Head of List Management Nick Austin said.
To me that reads as if they were happy for him to...
Is Paddy Dow generally considered a write off by the majority of fans?
I'm only asking because I feel like he is a bit of a forgotten man, rarely being mentioned. He looks in ripping nick this year. If he gets a full preseason in, he'll be like a new recruit to our midfield. I have definitely...
Brad Crouch played 65 games in 3 years for us. I reckon he was unlucky not to make the AA squad in 2023.
In 2024 he played only one game, we all know that. But that game was only 63% game time. That was his least time on ground in a game for his entire Saints 'career'.
Expensive game for...
Just on Jack Carroll, being a new player I've been focusing on him a fair bit. It's been noted how he seems to find space in tight, he has good acceleration and a wonderful sidestep. His kicking is absolutely top notch, in greasy conditions he was one of the guys to hit the target on most...
Ok, I can't help myself. Wilsons time was 17 seconds faster than Hill. So to say he was 100 metres in front of second place is actually doing him dirty. It was more like 150m+.
To be honest, I was so in awe of Darcy the pack sort of feels like a blur. I do remember being surprises by Hunter...
I thought I noted down the top 10 but seem to have lost it. I must admit I definitely noticed that he did very well during the run. Definitely top 10 finish, I'd be lying if I said a position though.
The new draftees didn't run, they were there but only watching. From basic observations of them...
Yeah I think I was very wrong about this one! I'm not sure who he is, he was being called Joey, and I think I went early. He certainly doesn't look quite so tanned and he is blonde.
Figured out that guy in the number 46 jumper is Joseph Pourre. Sandringham listed player, know nothing about him but I like the way he goes about it.
Edit: I think I'm wrong here
Carroll has taken Hayes' number (18) - at least for the sessions Ive watched. Can't 100% confirm, but would seem strange to change it at this point.
Macrae is in 6 vacated by Ross.
I haven't noticed any other players changing their number from last year
Its a very interesting move we've done. I think I read somewhere that we wanted to give him the reassurance of being on a list whilst he concentrated on his studies.
Considering that's going to happen in June, like Austinnn said, we must really rate him.
