That sword cuts both ways. Both parties have risks and advantages with long-term contracts. Not sure why Kane focussed on the cost/risk to the club but not the player.
I’ve been pulling my hair out all season watching this type of play from all our players.
There is so much fake pressure, sweating off and corralling players, instead attacking the player with the ball, which allows them to execute their disposal with essentially no pressure.
We stand a player...
Keays won’t be suspended. The was literally no other option for him and the force applied was only due to his momentum.
This is not the same as Cameron and Bedford last week. Both those players started their tackle upright and then forced the player the ground (for what it’s worth I though...
Port’s form is terrible for the Crows.
It distracts from the disaster that is our off field department and poor form, and they may entered the race for a new coach before us.
I think it’s probably fair if it they’re going to call a goal and it can be reviewed, but the AFL should have a system where if the soft call is a goal it goes back to set up for a ball up. At least that way the game can flow and we have confidence in the umpire.
IN this situation I think the...
The ugly? The umpire stuffing up another hit the post call.
This time, the system fixed it because he accidentally called it a goal. So no one is making a big deal about it. But, again, the umpire confidently made a call when he should have referred it for review.
Well if Tim said it, who am I to disagree!
I watched the game live and JHF was good for a quarter then went missing and popped up at the end. Then I watched it on replay. And he was good and then went missing. The difference between the two was how much he got talked up on TV.
Most port...
JHF? 15 disposal, 2 goals and 1(!) tackle? That JHF?
He had some high impact moments. Especially early on, and then went missing. He was a long way for ports best.
There are so many bed wetters in this thread that will be changing their sheets tonight after teeing off at the club because “they are not going to debut Curtin”.
Well you don’t bring in Sholl if you are planning on being defensive (unless you don’t understand what defence is), so hopefully more fast ball movement tonight.
But I fear the fumbles and poor disposal will be on display again when the ground gets a bit wet.
My follow up questions are either:
What did he buy from Bunnings, or
Did he accept a “yes” or a “no” how to vote card, or did he accept neither because he isn’t an idiot and knows how to spell yes or no?
So my take on this is that the value of the FS, academy etc. bids is not the 20% discount but is the ability to treat picks as points when other teams can’t do this.
So to fix this I think we get rid of awarding draft picks but award all teams points based on their finish. These can be traded...
This is the real value of academy and father/son picks. They allow a non-fungible asset (picks) to become fungible. It allows teams like CG to treat multiple crap picks as a good pick based on points.
Clearly the AFL need to review the points system because clubs are too keen to do these types...
General question. Is father son eligibility only based on grants in the first grade team?
If reserved games count, not having a port or crows reserves team until recently would be a problem.
Oh wow.
So a guy who is an excellent half backman, who had played almost his entire AFL career outside the midfield wasn’t thought of as a guaranteed midfielder?! I am SHOCKED! Absolutely shocked by this revelation!
He trained with the midfield because they thought he could play in the...
We know how this players out.
Crows sell the farm for Oliver.
Then, two days after the trade period, a journalist “uncovers” pictures of Oliver passed out with a needle hanging out of his arm.
Then the AFL ban him for 12 months (on full pay by the AFC) for bringing the game into disrepute...
This board reminds me a lonely guy who has just been hit up by a “Victorian secret model” on Tinder.
Sure it is most likely a catfish who will fleece us of our savings, but we are willing to forget that in the slight chance we could have a hot date with a beautiful woman who is contacting us...
