Had no right to win after such a shit start, but **** that dangerous tackle call has left a sour taste. Goal stands and there's every chance we steal it.
I can handle losing, particularly when we're comprehensively outplayed, but is there any danger that we might change up the way we move the ball when we're getting pumped? Took us until the 24 minute mark of the last to start attacking the corridor and sure enough, we started to generate scores...
First game I can actually remember attending was Round 7, 2000. We belted the Eagles at Docklands (Colonial) and Jeff Farmer kicked 7.
Felt like every time I went to the footy that year, Wiz would kick a bag (9 in the second half vs Collingwood, 8 in the Prelim). 7-year old me became...
I did this too. Used to record our games on Foxtel and I refused to delete the victories because I never knew how long I was going have to wait to see another win.
I recall attending a relatively forgettable game at the G against Port. From memory, Jurrah and Petterd kicked 4 each and we absolutely pumped them. Think it was the season that we beat up on some ordinary interstate sides but couldn't cut it against anyone half decent.
It wasn't pretty but 2 from 2 against the SA teams in Adelaide is a huge result.
Shout out to TMac who I thought was absolutely cooked coming into 2024. Was solid again down back tonight.
Oliver's GF goal is my favourite sporting moment of all time. The image of him turning and raising a finger to the crowd is permanently burnt into my brain. He could spend the rest of his career snapping windscreen wipers off cars and sleeping on Max's couch and I'd still vote for him just for that.
Went down the rabbit hole and ended up watching the extended highlights of our '06 elim final. Features a lot of the guys discussed in this thread - Neitz, Green, Yze, Davey, Rivers, White, Junior, Robbo, Bruce, Jamar, Whelan, and a very young Jones.
Also the game that G Train tried to take on...
Hard one to cop, that. Thank god we won it in '21 because if we hadn't, I don't know how I would've coped with the disappointment of this loss.
What's most frustrating is that our flaws were on show for all to see in last year's finals series and we did nothing to address them this season. Can...
Happy enough with those changes. Like the inclusion of Pig.
No idea if we'll win but I'm way more optimistic than I was going into last year's finals series. I'm sure the nerves will kick in tomorrow but for now, I'm just excited at the opportunity to see Melbourne playing in a massive game...
Forget the whole 'dead rubber' tag - I reckon that was a quality win on the road against a side that had won their last 6 and were playing for a home final.
I like that we were challenged in the third and found a way to wrestle back the momentum. Our '21 side made a habit of doing that and the...
Most I've enjoyed watching us play for a while I reckon. We've beaten better sides this year, but I love seeing us be more direct and kick higher scores, even if it means conceding more goals along the way.
