    Review Good/bad/ugly vs Carlton

Had no right to win after such a shit start, but **** that dangerous tackle call has left a sour taste. Goal stands and there's every chance we steal it.

Game Day Round 8 vs. Geelong @ MCG – 7:30 pm AEST

Just have a weird feeling that despite our shit form coming in, we'll win this. Which inevitably means we'll get pumped. Go Dees?

Review GBF - Dees v Bears - Where is biff?

Fugly: Gotta love those 15m loopy forward handballs that result in the recipient getting polaxed and the ball being handed back to the oppo.

Review GBF - Dees v Bears - Where is biff?

I can handle losing, particularly when we're comprehensively outplayed, but is there any danger that we might change up the way we move the ball when we're getting pumped? Took us until the 24 minute mark of the last to start attacking the corridor and sure enough, we started to generate scores...

    Preview Changes/Preview – Round 5 vs. Brisbane

Regardless of whether Tholstrup is ready or not, there's something uniquely exciting about a debut. Can't wait to see him in action.

Club History Completely random Melbourne memories that come to mind for no particular reason

First game I can actually remember attending was Round 7, 2000. We belted the Eagles at Docklands (Colonial) and Jeff Farmer kicked 7. Felt like every time I went to the footy that year, Wiz would kick a bag (9 in the second half vs Collingwood, 8 in the Prelim). 7-year old me became...

I did this too. Used to record our games on Foxtel and I refused to delete the victories because I never knew how long I was going have to wait to see another win.

Club History Completely random Melbourne memories that come to mind for no particular reason

I recall attending a relatively forgettable game at the G against Port. From memory, Jurrah and Petterd kicked 4 each and we absolutely pumped them. Think it was the season that we beat up on some ordinary interstate sides but couldn't cut it against anyone half decent.

Review Dees v West Horsham - Good, Bad & Fugly

It wasn't pretty but 2 from 2 against the SA teams in Adelaide is a huge result. Shout out to TMac who I thought was absolutely cooked coming into 2024. Was solid again down back tonight.

Universal Love Who is the best player who has played for the Melbourne Football Club since and including 2000? WINNER: Max Gawn

Oliver's GF goal is my favourite sporting moment of all time. The image of him turning and raising a finger to the crowd is permanently burnt into my brain. He could spend the rest of his career snapping windscreen wipers off cars and sleeping on Max's couch and I'd still vote for him just for that.

Universal Love Who is the best player who has played for the Melbourne Football Club since and including 2000? WINNER: Max Gawn

Went down the rabbit hole and ended up watching the extended highlights of our '06 elim final. Features a lot of the guys discussed in this thread - Neitz, Green, Yze, Davey, Rivers, White, Junior, Robbo, Bruce, Jamar, Whelan, and a very young Jones. Also the game that G Train tried to take on...

I'm convinced we'll trade up again. Just a matter of how high we can climb.

Review Dees v Carrrrrrlton: Good, Bad & Fugly

Hard one to cop, that. Thank god we won it in '21 because if we hadn't, I don't know how I would've coped with the disappointment of this loss. What's most frustrating is that our flaws were on show for all to see in last year's finals series and we did nothing to address them this season. Can...

    Preview Preview/changes v. Collingwood @ MCG - Qualifying Final

Happy enough with those changes. Like the inclusion of Pig. No idea if we'll win but I'm way more optimistic than I was going into last year's finals series. I'm sure the nerves will kick in tomorrow but for now, I'm just excited at the opportunity to see Melbourne playing in a massive game...

Review Dees v Swans - Good, Bad & Fugly

Forget the whole 'dead rubber' tag - I reckon that was a quality win on the road against a side that had won their last 6 and were playing for a home final. I like that we were challenged in the third and found a way to wrestle back the momentum. Our '21 side made a habit of doing that and the...

Review Dees v Tigers and the Ghost of Dimma's Trouser Snake: the Good, Bad and Ugly

Most I've enjoyed watching us play for a while I reckon. We've beaten better sides this year, but I love seeing us be more direct and kick higher scores, even if it means conceding more goals along the way.

Review Dees v Lions: the Good, Bad & Fugly

He had 26 and a goal in the game I looked up (Round 1, 2017). Can't imagine he had much better numbers throughout his whole career.
