nowhere near as powerful as smillie is in his draft year. Just because he was 191cm and a midfielder doesn’t mean they are comparable. Two completely different styles
Contested competitive beast. 194 cm he’s one I’m least worried about translating at afl level. At minimum he will be a gun clearance player. Has the craft and the athleticism
Depends who’s left at pick (8) and how far back we’re actually willing to go. I’m sure we’d be keen on Lindsay, Bo Allan, travaglia (less of a midfielder) And hotton.
I’ve watched him live multiple times this year it’s not a one off judgement. But these are games that teams are at full strength and the top prospects are going head to head. He’s still a clear tier 1 talent but theres definitely questions on him as there is in pretty much all prospects. I view...
I left with more questions than answers, he looked tired I’m not sure if it was just the step up in quality he was against? Has stuffed the stat sheet all year but against lesser opposition, hard to rate. I know Reid is not your favourite but I grew on him a bit more over the weekend. Is...
Langford was interesting on the weekend. Got caught holding the ball a few times and his lack of pace looked evident at the ground and had me thinking how’s this gonna translate into the pace of afl footy? He might take a bit of time and become really good. Hard to rate among the top prospects...
Way way ott. Sunday was his biggest test as it was up against some of the premier midfielders so it was a good guage of where he is at imo. He was quite poor with his disposal in space and also when under pressure he panicked. Has tools but yeah. Was actually quite impressed with Cole. His voice...
To add onto that, is a nice size and has a bit of power and there is something to work with. But like Cole has some serious serious work to do if he were to make it. Will depend on if he’s made of the right stuff.
Still likely to go top 5 on attributes and what he CAN produce imo. I’m hoping he’s one of our picks but I’m not holding out much hope. He probably goes pick 1 this year if he had a full go at it.
He plays predominantly forward. That’s probably where he will be at the next level sorta like Jake stringer. Hasn’t got much midfield craft but is good for attending centre bounces and drifting forward. Plenty of power and speed tho
Had a good chat with him at men’s gallary at 3am the other week (dont ask) but said he was keen for a good season next year and he loves it at the saints
If Tiges get the pick from Gold Coast and they would’ve probably selected one of smillie/jagger/FOS with the first. I could see them pulling the trigger on either Armstrong/trainor. Ess at the pick after us surely won’t target a midfielder and with the Tiges getting the other picks from freo etc...
Reminds me of sheezel. Probably going to be a jack of all trades. Has goal sense. Lightning hands and a neat kick. Will probably impact most in the backline early days as would get monstered in the midfield until he gets a bit more mature and builds a solid tank. I can see him being a full time...
Ross has come out and said it’s a heavy midfield top end and wel stock up in that area. If we took trainor after those comments when all year he’s banged on about our lack of midfield I’ll be seriously suprised. We’re in a spot with our pick wel get atleast one of the elite midfielders. Some fit...
If one were to slide I think it would be Langford. Especially after he tests. Cals been on record saying some clubs love him and some clubs view him as a dime a dozen midfielder. If the clubs infront of us don’t really rate him and he tests poorly I could see him out of all the above slide to us.
Harvey’s running capacity has definitely improved and is a bit of a pig in mud at the contest. IMO hel still be a solid contested pig that will out muscle opponents at the stoppage as he gets stronger. His ceiling is how damaging he can be.
Hel at worst still be a solid afl midfielder. Hes an absolute bull in the contest and will be a clearance machine. He sort of throws himself at it and is very good at extracting. What will be interesting is how his running game translates into afl. As you’ve pointed out he can get away with it...
