This is a very difficult exercise as its hard to put where all 3 clubs are at this year.
Melbourne definately has the talent to make finals but it does depend on Oliver recapturing his best form and Gawn to continue to dominate, although he is ageing. Same with May who i thought tapered off...
Once bitten? More like 5 times but hey we are a very young squad so we need to see the improvement in individuals to give us hope at least. I'm prepared to be bitten a sixth time but I just maybe a complete sucker.
Go North mate.
Both we really good. Hardeman looks a natural half back flanker. Has good wheels and nice tidy disposal, tough too. Hansen really played well in the second half, got involved as a high half forward. Took a couple of nice grabs and his disposal was good. Didn't shirk a contest either, pleasantly...
Yep totally get that but Cooper was impressive in the contest, outside the contest and his disposal. Just a natural footballer. He still has a way to go but he is heading in the right direction
One final thing I want to mention about today. Over the past 5 years when I have attended match sim/intra games there is always a bit of joking around, laughing etc but not today, it was purely business. Phillips/Powell and Wardlaw were really physical, so was Chom and Maley in the first half...
The Blue team's forward line with Darling playing was more open and a lot of the inside 50's hit targets. Also noticable was Larkey running amok. The inside 50's was good but we were playing North Melbourne so I'll temper it a bit until we don't play us.
It was very noticeable. The first quarter felt like a game between mates but after that it felt it got more serious. Harder tackling, higher intensity and verbalisation. Look it could amount to another crap season but it felt different today. A lot of off the ball niggling stuff. I was quite...
Fisher only played first half and was particularly dominant in the second quarter. Stephens worked his way into the game nicely after a poor first quarter
My write up.
I've been to many preseason intras/sim games over the last few years and this by far has been the best. Better intensity, skills and a discernible game plan.
Phillips and Powell dominated and while Phillips missed a few kicks late in the game, its obvious his fitness has improved...
