My granddad's a Packers fan, so they're my second team. Not sure if I'll be able to bring myself to watch the conference championships, though. I'll definitely watch the Super Bowl if the Packers are there, but this weekend the wounds might still be too fresh.
Genuinely worried about the Titans. The teams that have given the Ravens trouble during this win streak (Niners, Browns, Bills) have all had strong running games and Derrick Henry's as good as any back in the league. If Tennessee can get out to an early lead, they could be hard to stop.
Kingsbury's issue has always been the defensive side. Maybe now that he doesn't have to recruit players it'll be less of an issue. If he can't figure it out, well, at least the games should be fun.
Wish the Titans had held off on winning a little longer so the Ravens could have officially knocked the Steelers out, but either way a Pittsburgh-free postseason is a beautiful thing.
I can't think of any other coach in any sport who has made it this obvious this quickly that they do not belong in the job. To be 5-7 with a roster that talented is a stunning achievement. As a Ravens fan, I'd love to see him back next year.
It was a tremendous knock. He's got this incredible ability to score runs when his side needs them (against India in Wellington when McCullum made 302 being the prime example, but there's so many others) and in a way that just grinds the opposition bowling down. Archer, Broad and Curran all...
Splitting carries is fairly common (and likely what will happen with the Cards), but two running backs on the field at the same time is rare. You'll see it at the college level, where offences are more unbalanced, but in the NFL you'll pretty much only get one at a time. You'd almost always...
Orioles/Ravens/Maryland Terrapins -- moved to Baltimore when I was 6 and picked up the local teams.
Blue Jackets -- first job was in Ohio, and it was my first opportunity to follow one hockey team to the exclusion of others. I could have picked the Red Wings or Blue Jackets and I picked the one...
Yeah this is the most fun Ravens team I can remember, and that includes the two Super Bowl winners. He’s such an electric presence on the field, even beyond his running ability. Nice after 20 years of Kyle Boller and Joe Flacco.
Before this week, the Ravens' next seven opponents (Seahawks, Patriots, Bengals, Texans, Rams, Niners, Bills) were a combined 27-13, and six of those losses came from the Bengals, and another three were the Rams, who made the Super Bowl last year. Beating the Seahawks in Seattle (only the second...
Ravens secondary is trash. Linebackers are even worse. Lamar is great but letting Smith, Suggs, Weddle and especially Mosley walk in free agency looks dumber every day. Chubb is an excellent running back (best in the league for mine) and he made our LBs look silly all day. Congrats, AC.
This is a good story that breaks down the issues that led to McCarthy's departure (tl;dr: Rodgers is a difficult person to work with, but some blame has to fall to McCarthy and the front office as well).
