There is a few posts from Adelaide supporters here indicating that Jenkins has been behaving like a flog for the last few years. As someone who hasn't heard or read a single thing re Jenkins, can someone explain what he has been doing/saying to get the reputation?
I agree that the argument that an extra week off allows teams to get injured players back and that is somehow a bad thing is flawed. In a perfect world, injuries wouldn’t exist and all teams would have their strongest teams on the field. Having a break that allows teams to get these players back...
If any there is looking for a new whipping boy, Murdoch is your man!
Has all the attributes that a good whipping boy should, including, but not limited to:
the ability to balls up something at the most critical moment (specialty)
The power of invisibility (the more important the game, the...
But that was always a risk. We got a good year of footy out of him and we are going to get a good deal more than what we got him for, so it isn't really a loss. As WC fans have said Ad nauseam, you were planning to pick him with pick 26! 12 months later you are going to paying a fair bit more...
How dare we mess up West Coast carefully laid plans. The nerve of us!
Reality is that if we thought he was good enough, it was a win/win to take him.
Either we get a good year or two of footy out of him, and his family love geelong and he stays; or
We get a good year or two out of him, his...
If he gives us 8 years service and becomes a free agent, I will gladly send him back home and wish him luck.
To be clear, I understand why his leaving, but claiming it isn’t different to those two is disingenuous.
Genius recruiting from geelong. Get kelly for pick 24, get a valuable year of footy out of him for next to nothing, watch his stocks rise and then send him back to WA for double the return on investment in just 12 months. Winners winners chicken dinners for wellsy and the gang
Richmond - best team in it. I am not overly worried about their somewhat patchy, albeit, still winning form. They have had the top spot sown up for weeks and have been coasting since. Though, they will need (and I expect them to) hit another gear come finals.
West Coast - I am not bullish on...
You have made the classic mistake of assuming that a fair fixture will outweigh the broadcasting dollars. I don’t think the afl will have any issue of scheduling more 5 day breaks if it means greater broadcasting revenue
Nobody has! That’s the problem. Like walking ghosts out there. The opposition ruck must get a fright when they shake hands at the end of the game and realise they actually had an opponent.
I think Pendlebury is a current champion that doesn’t get enough now. Guy has played about 5/10 bad games is his career and just seems to be glossed over.
Well given that he hasn’t missed a game makes me think that he is putting afl way too high on his list of priorities. As others have mentioned, you couldn’t make this achievement without sacrificing a lot and missing a number of other events in your life. I just don’t think this level of fanatic...
I mean it’s impressive but it’s also a little sad IMO. Sport should be enjoyed but not sure following it to this level is healthy. It’s all most seems like an addiction.
Anyone who points to the margin of last years grand final as proof that Richmond would have won anywhere should have their account deleted. Not only are you missing the point but your logic is so flawed it is actually embarrassing.
Instead of being mad at Selwood for doing what’s best for his team, you should be mad at Newman for giving away the free kick. Sad that no one can look internally for fault, always looking for someone else to blame. Similar to the arm shrug. Everyone is so mad that Selwood gets the free kick but...
Insanity is thinking that because a team won by X amount on this day that’s what the home ground advantage would have to be for that team to win at home. That is just plain illogical.
Sorry if that’s how my post read. I am not saying he isn’t doing well, I am saying, based on how he was tracking before his injuries, I think he would have been a top 15 player that would have been a gun mid/fwd in a similar role to what Stevie J and Paul Chapman played.
Menzel was on his way to becoming a star based on 2011 form. 4 knee reco’s later, we are just going to have to settle with a good goal kicker that can’t defend.
Hate to burst your bubble but Seniors played on Wednesday night (due to cyclone issues). Still great game. Southern districts beat Darwin buffaloes by 1 point.
Most exciting NTFL game I have witnessed.
