From the perspective of one living overseas, I would go to any Hawthorn match at the MCG, but of course the dream would be a Grand Final. A close second would be a match in Tassie before the team leaves the venue (perhaps) forever. As much as I love the sport of hockey, a Stanley Cup Final would...
I was attending Michigan State the year Magic and company burst the Bird bubble. Good times (for me anyway!) Apparently still the highest rated basketball game ever.
I'm not sure that one has to feel the action is unjust in order to be crestfallen for the player. I can say I wish things had played out differently.
I also would wish Josh all the best in the future!
Very well encapsulated. I spent my college years at Michigan State and was in the Marching band and Basketball/Hockey bands every year I was able. My freshman year was Magic Johnson's NC year vs. Larry Bird and the Sycamores. I actually performed in South Bend three times during my stay...
I must be a true outlier. I've been watching US sports for over 60 years and my two favorite sports overall are Hockey (Canadian) and AFL (Australian). Of all the sports you have mentioned here, these are the two where genetics (while still very important overall) are, by comparison, the least...
Pretty sure this will come off as picky, but hockey is a 360 game that is actually much faster. Your point still stands though as the playing surface is far smaller and the referees only have 12 players to monitor at a time.
Am I tripping or do I remember Battle swinging forward on occasion? Would it be possible for he and Sic to cause a bit of confusion by rotating in-game? Just a thought. Ignore if that would be nonsense. This would of course be contingent on obtaining Barrass as well!
To be honest, at this point...
Not sure what to do now. Firmly places the match in Friday prime time here (7:30 PM), but if I even check the score (let alone watch) I'm concerned it would be my fault they don't win. Crap!
Looks like your Dad and I shared a love for literature :)

Interesting comparison. Looked up 2023 sales, Puma around $9B US, Skechers $8B. Not seeing a lot of daylight there. Maybe I'm naive, but I don't understand the angst. If Puma offered us more money, I'd say take it, but can't see any reason to bash Skechers...
While I don't think this is applicable to this situation, there is one caveat. If a coach were available who was clearly the best coach in the game (maybe ever) pulling the trigger could be a benefit. In 1993, the Detroit Red Wing snatched up Scotty Bowman, even though Bryan Murray had guided...
The NFL rule book is so large no one actually knows every rule, but they review and make changes every year anyway. I think it's only so the referees actually have to look at it between seasons.
Watching games from that era I couldn't help but notice the current hesitancy to call HTB is a huge reason the game seems so slow now. Back then the fear of being called resulted in players getting rid of it much more quickly, most times well before contact. Now players almost wait for someone...
