Interesting comparison. Looked up 2023 sales, Puma around $9B US, Skechers $8B. Not seeing a lot of daylight there. Maybe I'm naive, but I don't understand the angst. If Puma offered us more money, I'd say take it, but can't see any reason to bash Skechers...
While I don't think this is applicable to this situation, there is one caveat. If a coach were available who was clearly the best coach in the game (maybe ever) pulling the trigger could be a benefit. In 1993, the Detroit Red Wing snatched up Scotty Bowman, even though Bryan Murray had guided...
The NFL rule book is so large no one actually knows every rule, but they review and make changes every year anyway. I think it's only so the referees actually have to look at it between seasons.
Watching games from that era I couldn't help but notice the current hesitancy to call HTB is a huge reason the game seems so slow now. Back then the fear of being called resulted in players getting rid of it much more quickly, most times well before contact. Now players almost wait for someone...
Apparently there is a new series on Apple + called Masters of the Air. Curious as to who has seen it as its had some fairly unflattering reviews.
On a side note, I would really like to see a series done on the RAF 617 Squadron. There was a movie called the Dam Busters, but I read a book of the...
What an ordeal! The part that got me the most: I hadn't really considered when something like that happens, there's no one local to turn to. I'll put the offer out now, if any of the Hawthorn family are stranded in Seattle, post here and I'll help if I'm able! :)
Well, they both were Boeing aircraft.
As a complete aside, I took a ride in a B-24 a few years back. Really gave me a sharpened perspective as to what those folks went through.
I'm actually in the habit of waiting until an entire season is complete so I can watch anytime, but I rarely binge the whole season at once. Not sure what that says about me.
Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I wasn't taking an opinion on the merits of beer vs. recreational drugs. I was merely stating that I was sorted for beer when pre-season starts next week....and for the regular season....and for the 2024 draft....etc.
I'll stick with my kegerator. Much cheaper way to drink good beer. Then again, it sounds like beer is considerably cheaper here, outside of sporting events and concerts that is...
I think you would find ice hockey to be equally intense and much faster, but it's also a series of 100% exertion for short sprints as opposed to footy which requires longer periods of high exertion, but point taken. It's actually one of the reasons I love both sports so much. The primary trait...
If you want to see Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne's best work together, you can't miss "The Shootist". The were also in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence". Both well worth a look if you love Westerns, but The Shootist is by a fair margin my favorite John Wayne movie.
Being on the west coast in the US means the afternoon matches ARE prime time here. With the app, I can watch the games whenever/wherever but live with friends and cold ones is always best. Having said that, I believe they should do what's best for the locals as they do the heavy lifting for revenue.
I agree with this. I can't help but wonder at times if the top 6 or so in this draft look so good because the next tier is so shallow. It means they are almost never competing against players who would challenge them to play their best at all times, making it somewhat more difficult to assess...
