I liked the way Robbie played his footy and was expecting a long career for him at our club. It wasn't to be but was good enough to play senior footy for the PAFC so credit due. I too still think of him as a Port player. Sad to hear of his passing.
I went to this game which I thought was the Ardath cup [long forgotten smokes brand]. Played in 1976 from memory and Russell Ebert played a blinder. A very cold night at Norwood oval .
Vale Bruce Light . He was everything that we loved about Port wrapped up in one player. Set the tone in the 1977 GF from the first bounce. Tough , fast , two sided player who would have made any Port side in any era . The original mad dog , we all loved The Colonel. RIP
