The Colls players, of which I am friends with, have always complained that the recruiting has been left to them. I'm not saying they were disappointed with WHO they recruited per se, just that it was often left to the players to get deals over the line.
What a great pick up by the Colls. Many of their players were disheartened with club's recruitment strategies in the past, I'm sure they will be happy with this one!
Any word on what the tightening of the points system will look like for the UNIAFL side next season? Hearing rumours that eligibility for one point is set to be made a lot more stringent.
Entertaining read.
Critchley should've received weeks. Was a tough hit but leaving the ground and head high contact is reportable. Great player regardless.
Ross' family and friends should be embarrassed for his cowardly push.
SKOBAFL to win by 45 points against UNIAFL.
The same BF posters to...
If they win the first final those players would've played one game in 28 days.
What have GF favourites done in the past? Can't remember Skob ever resting this many.
Unsure how an email to club secretaries from over three years ago with a few advisory points can become legislation, especially when a penalty isn't advised. (The rules also conclude that all player point allocations are reviewed by the association).
The VAFA has erred considerably here...
DH 23 quickly becoming my favourite poster on this page. Interesting to note 12-14 Skob boys had a run around in various teams/comps last week, thinking this will be of great benefit this weekend (not enough to tip them however).
My tips:
OMs
Collegians
Snow Dogs
Xavs
Blues
BF Call: Battle of...
OS v Xavs - Don't think the Old Xavs schedule tribunal hearings, so not sure why they are at fault here. Tribunal hearing went ahead (late), and the evidence was inconclusive.
Coll v Xavs - Game ended when the umpires stopped play and had to get an ambulance onto the field. It was also called...
Massive oversight by the Old Xavs you'd suspect, can't imagine it was intentional / malicious. The discussion in this group alone shows just how ambiguous the points rules are.
Heading into the bye, which teams can we expect to be rejuvenated with talent that may have been missing through injury?
Obvious couple from the Old Xavs are Dan Noonan and Dennis Symeopoulos.
Big Call... A shootout at University Oval with both teams scoring 100+ points, and multiples of 5+ goals coming from 3 players.
De La to beat OMs and Jake Williams to have 30+
That is correct - the ground was a disgrace and posed a serious risk to anyone foolish enough to play on it. With the forecast for Saturday being sunny and 20 degrees, we shouldn't have any issues - it's set to be an immaculate day for VAFA footy at Uni Oval.
Noonan = No
Hams = Reserves...
Trinity in a thriller.
Bernards to return to the pit and back to the winners list.
Uni Blues overrun a Browne-less Skob.
Collegians.
Old Xavs get it done at the College.
Big Call: TBA.
