Why are opposition/neutral supporters even giving this thread any oxygen? I know the irony of me posting here, but I just wanted to get my point across. Thread belongs on the Geelong board.
Commiserations to the Bulldogs. I was very very nervous pregame, as Bulldogs are always dangerous. I have a soft spot for the Bulldogs as I grew up in West Footscray. I am really sorry to hear about Hawthorn supporters acting like arrogant flogs during the game. Must always be humble.
I've seen alot of your posts in Hawthorn related threads. You have an unhealthy negative obsession towards the Hawks. You need to build a bridge about 89 & 08.
IMHO we need a 30K boutique stadium near the CBD, for smaller to mid size Melbourne clubs to play against lower drawing interstate teams. I would rather watch the Hawks fill out a boutique stadium when playing against the likes of GWS/SUNS, than playing in a largely empty MCG. Better spectacle.
Yes, Bulldogs is my second team because of my connections to Footscray and the west.
I still much prefer the name Footscray Bulldogs than Western Bulldogs, but I suppose I got to move with the times.
Well, I'm Vietnamese & a passionate Hawks supporter.
I grew up in West Footscray (use to walk to Western Oval), back in the 80s. Chris the King was my primary school, in Braybrook, and Simon Madden was the PE teacher. Whole school barracked for Essendon (streamers, decorations and all) in the...
IMHO, Collingwood is the biggest Victorian club. Carlton, Richmond and Essendon are a rung below. Richmond supporters like to talk up their crowds the most, out of that lot.
In the attendance thread, many Richmond supporters totally disregard the Hawthorn support in yesterday's 92K crowd...
In ancient Rome, the emporer built the colloseum with shows, festivals, foods & events, sometimes for weeks on end, to appease the restless people. The masses were happy & distracted, rather than talking about life & politics. Today, we have sports stadiums throughout the world, where people are...
Normally a fine... If Sicily then one week.
Normally one week... If Sicily then two weeks.
Harsh but true.
But this harshness could backfire and set precedents.
You probably don't realise it but to many neutrals reading this thread, you come across as a biased chest puffing yet constantly whinging kind of bloke.
I now actively look at free kick counts during a match, and surprise surprise, the team leading the free kicks is usually leading points scored as well. I don't buy into the belief that the first player to the ball usually wins the free kick. Does that mean the Bulldogs are always first to the...
You forgot one "minor" consideration... the vast majority of neutrals don't see Brisbane as a threat and see them as the lesser of the evils, when voting.
Some teams get looked after more so than others. This happens in cycles, periods or even era, depending on afl administrators, their agenda's and/or club allegiances. It is a fact. I am not naming teams. The Afl is rorted to a degree and us fans are all sucked in and defend our clubs tooth and nail.
I am uncomfortable venturing out of the Melbourne property market, as that is my comfort zone.
I appreciate your suggestions.
It seems, expanding portfolio with several smaller investment properties over owning one grand home is the preferred choice. Thank you all for feedback.
My apologies if I had caused any angst.
This is a genuine dilemma of mine. I will be taking up a significant risk as the new loan repayments have not been felt yet. Hence, my choice must be the right one as I would be stuck with it.
I do work long hours and usually 6 days a week. And I do most...
Hi guys,
I have a property dilemma and not sure which direction is the best for me.
Question: do you think it is better to own one $2.5m property to live in (suburb, location, land size, car space, 4 beds plus, double front period home, all tick the boxes) or own one $2m home to live in (does...
Yep, umpires that constantly blow the whistles have far too much control over match outcomes.
Too many soft frees given. The soft free then opens up play, leads to another play up the field, and then goal. Then people forget that the soft free at the start eventuated to the brilliant goal...
We are all bloody sheeps following a rorted league.
I sometimes hate myself for being so passionate about the Hawks.
When the AFL and umpires don't want you to win, it will be almost impossible to beat the system unless the team is quality through and through, which we are not at the moment...
