Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 14 - North v Pies Sun June 16th 1pm AEST (Marvel)

Wait, so you think the Pies have had some sort of preferential treatment because their father/son picks have just been flat out better than Melbourne’s? They don’t have to be drafted, that’s on your mob. Time for a cup of tea and a lie down mate.. As for the game, I honestly think if North had...

    Nick Daicos

Daicos is a gun. Love watching him. Also loved watching Judd. And Carey. And both Abletts. And a whole bunch of great players over the years. I’m happy to just realise these types of players are what make AFL worth watching and don’t put any stock in trying to bring these young blokes down…

Analysis 2023 Grand Final wrap: Liked, Learnt, and Hated?

Liked: Ripping game, Pies win was very well deserved, Bobby Hill was electric, Daicos was terrific, Pendlebury’s composure late in the game, Brisbane were gallant in defeat. Learned: Fly is an outstanding coach, Brisbane had a few too many passengers on the day. Hated: Was it just me, or was...

    Nick Daicos

This kid is an absolute ripper. One of the best players in the game at the moment, an impressive young bloke and played a cracking game in a grand final, all at 20 years old. The criticism is ridiculous - as an AFL fan, I just look forward to watching the lad play over the coming years…

    How good was that?

I thoroughly enjoyed the contest, and was two teams and two players who played the game in great spirit. Having two coaches who allowed that contest also was terrific for the game. While not quite as full on as your view, watching the replay, I can actually see what you are getting at here...

Haha, ahh, that Nic Cage pic always makes me laugh. Oddball bastard that he is.. :)

    Melbourne v Western Bulldogs, MCG

Nice way of saying you can change your standard willy-nilly to suit your opinion for justification. You should get into politics. It's pretty obvious that you always like to put controversial choices in your best players to go against the 'consensus' (people on the boards, media and the teams...

    Melbourne v Western Bulldogs, MCG

Yet the biggest clearance beast in Fyfe was left out of your votes in the Essendon v Freo game, in favour of Goddard where Freo smacked them around the park, and only wasn't 50+ points due to them taking their foot off the gas. C'mon mate, bit of consistency if contested ball is your big thing...

    Melbourne v Western Bulldogs, MCG

Melbourne had a very even spread of players, and was a great team performance, with Spencer and Vandenberg being very good. But they also had genuine match winners who presented all day, and went up a gear when the game needed to be won. I already mentioned these players. Bernie Vince was...

    Melbourne v Western Bulldogs, MCG

Laughable. Obviously using champion data stats again. Nathan Jones, Bernie Vince and Hogan or Pedersen - take your pick - were huge. Boyd should be nowhere near in the best 3 players. A good rule of thumb is to actually watch the games..

    Melbourne v Western Bulldogs, MCG

That was a really great win by the Dees, and good on 'em. They have some guys that are willing to take the game on, and while they will have some ups an downs, the future is definitely starting to look more positive. Hogan was great and Nathan Jones is just an extraordinary captain, just doing...

    Fremantle V North Melbourne @Subi

Swallow, and I actually think Brown - as he provides a target and contest - are solid outs. But realistically - Wells - it almost feels a bonus if you get 10 games out of him in any season. I really like him, but he's been injury prone from day 1. Dal Santo is slick, but just an accumulator - I...

AFL 2015, Round 6: Fremantle vs Essendon

Am I missing something here? No Essendon player should have been anywhere near best players on the ground last night. Mundy, Spurr, Fyfe, Barlow, Clancee Pearce, Sandilands - take your pick, were all more worthy than Goddard..

Will having to play a grand final at the MCG potentially cost Fremantle a flag?

Leave it, it is what it is. The best teams let everyone else worry about that stuff and just deal with whats in front of them..

    AFL 2015, Round 5 - West Coast v G.W.Sydney, 5.40pm, Domain Stadium

??? No idea what you're on about Prince Valiant. In any case, West Coast were good tonight. But I don't care for Masten, and his touches were outside, uncontested and bruise free. There were far better players than him tonight.

It should be. Soft, bruise free touches.

    AFL 2015, Round 5 - Sydney v W. Bulldogs, SCG, 2.40pm

Great win by the Doggies, a lot to like about the way they are going about their football. Fergal Sharkey - I mean Luke Beveridge - is doing a great job with them :)

Analysis Peel Thunder 2015 (TV schedule in OP)

Who do you drop? You either play him ahead of Ballas coming back, or drop DeBoer, who doesn't deserve to be dropped. Unless its wet, and you replace Tabs with him, but to limit your tall options is also an issue. It's a tricky call..

Is Todd Goldstein the best player in the comp?

I agree with this. Gold is a terrific player, but Coxy was simply one of the best ruckman I've ever seen, and was the blueprint for the modern day ruck man with his work rate, earning midfielder-like numbers. That game you mention against the Roos, I remember also for him winning off his own...

Analysis Peel Thunder 2015 (TV schedule in OP)

His disposal is generally good. Absolutely destroys the ball in pack situations. His attack on the ball is first class, and he will be a very handy player.

Autopsy 2014 AFL Grand Final - Sydney v Hawthorn

Fantastic win from an outstanding team. Hit the Swans hard early, and they all went into their holes, while the Hawks just got stronger and stronger. For all the pre game talk up Sydney got, they didn't beat a top team outside of Sydney. Congrats Hawkers - your team was amazing today! :)

Autopsy Hawks vs Cats - we're on our way to a prelim!

Great win by the Hawks. Gonna be a tough team to beat. I reckon you've done well with Langford - he's a ripper..

Fremantle Vs. Port Adelaide - Rd 23, 2014

Really enjoyable game to be at. Port are a great team, I really quite like them, and was just a good, honest tussle against two very good sides. I know Port closed in late, but really thought that was due to the gamble on the interchange rotations, with two of Freos prime movers having to stay...

Carlton versus Geelong: rnd 21, Etihad Stadium Fri 15/8 @ 7.50PM EST

Nah, your mob played a terrific game against Freo, easily your best performance of the year. With some consistency and confidence, you could have won more games playing like that. Nothing to do with the umps in that one. Last week against Geelong, it was farcical. Not only the amount and types...

Round 19 - Fremantle vs Carlton @ PS

Murphy got 7. Crowley got 1. Logic sounds legit.. If anything, Crowley gets over-penalised. Standard issue really for the AFL umps little navy blue bum boys - most free kicks for, and the least against, while only winning 6 games. Interesting. Murphy almost doubled the entire Freo count when...

    West Coast v Richmond - Rd 18 2014 - Fri 25 July, Patersons Stadium

Umm, maybe it had some good goals because the conditions allowed it. Serious wet weather footy last night kinda makes it difficult to be clean with the ball. But the tackling pressure and ferocity was far better last night, like when Darling got nailed in a tackle, and obviously the furore after...

    West Coast v Richmond - Rd 18 2014 - Fri 25 July, Patersons Stadium

While dew will make it greasy, its still a fair difference from torrential rain you can barely see in, and muddy conditions around the boundary lines. That Brisbane game was a horrible - nay - disgraceful spectacle of AFL football, from two teams that could barely find a target. Add in the skill...

Does West Coast have the worst midfield in the league?

Masten may become 'not a mid' alright… How he keeps flying under the radar and getting a game is beyond me. His form is so bad its almost comical. To even suggest he is a B grade mid right now is a stretch..

    West Coast v Richmond - Rd 18 2014 - Fri 25 July, Patersons Stadium

Did you actually watch any of the West Coast/Brisbane game? Now that was a shit game of football. At least last nights game was in tough conditions, and had a bit of spice after the Vickery hit. That game up in Brisbane was in top conditions, and was an absolute snooze fest. Horrible, horrible...
