The article on page 101 of today's Herald-Sun reads:
ALL OVER FOR AARON?
Two weeks ago, we wrote about former Collingwood, Richmond and Bulldogs forward Aaron James kicking 23 goals for Sunbury Kangaroos.
No, the 30-year-old's playing career could be over.
On Tuesday night, James faced...
I'm sure everyone read the article in todays herald-sun. What are peoples views on:
The individual
The league
The implications
Open slather posters.......
mate whoever you are don't dare associate and say 'my romsey boys' in one post then have a dig at one of the players a few posts later in macca. macca has brought class to this league and the minute you put a slant on him and connect yourself to the Romsey FC when you are clearly aligned to the...
digger9, rioli brownlow & johnfromtheVAFA..........you are all pathetic.
As a supporter of the RDFL i'm rapt to possibly have a player like morgs back in the comp, it only strengthens us. Clearly peolple on this thread have problems with people who can play the game, so they have to can them...
can anyone tell me how my old mate john harley is travelling for robinvale??? moved up there for work and took on the assistant coach role at the eagles. gutsy straight lines defender built like a rake but fearless and now wears a helmet cause he gets KO'd all the time. also can anyone tell...
went and watched the heathcote/lancefield game and the saints looked good with a few to come back including big waters. prob won by about 12 goals.
heard too that romsey had about 5 good senior players out but still outclassed the roos by about 8 goals in the senior match with dunne prob...
Is there any way the EDFL can swap West Coburg and Keilor Park in A grade and B grade for 06??? I know it was only a practice match tonight but West Coburg were loud, sharp, tough and skillful. Keilor Park should have been over at the Netball court.
Good work slugga. Are you good for another 100 sausage rolls this year? Just out of interest one of Riddells challengers for the upcoming season Romsey had a comfortable win over sunshine today. Looking forward to the real stuff.
Re: Keilor Night Series!
well said!!! I used to play in the EDFL and still watch games now and went to the GVFL GF last year and it was simply the best match of local footy i have ever seen. Pillios needs to swallow his pride and just realise that the EDFL is a strong comp but is quite off...
Interesting statement seeing as though Plant didn't play 1 game last year, commo played about 4 games and Edwards about 10 yet they still made the GF. Yeah morgs and connellan will be a loss but matt mclellan and the other recruits i think can fill the void. right them off at your own peril.......
garbutt will play only the required 6 games to qualify for finals, but those 6 games will be for big $$$ this is due to his injury problems that play havoc with his job at the force response unit with VICPOL.
Gavin Christaenson has been appointed as Macedon FC's Senior Coach for 2006. Gav was Reserves & Assistant Coach to Mick McGuane at Gisborne. Good move for the Cats i believe...Now they just need to strengthen their cattle.
couple of my mates who were sitting in the tabaret at Sunbury FC having a few pots informed me that Al Meldrum and Luke Carroll from Romsey were seen having discussions with coach Mark Power and assistant Darryl Griffin at the club yesterday arvo...would be good footy for the both of them...
Not bad roge...here's mine
1. Al Meldrum (Rom)
2. Lee James (Ridd)
3. Mark Strack (Rom)
4. Matt Robertson (Kil)
5. Scott Clarke (Lan)
6. Brydan Morgan (Rom)
7. Mick Allen (Ridd)
8. Shaun Sims (Digg)
9. Luke Carroll (Rom)
10. Col Laurie (Digg)
does anyone know if there is any truth to the rumour that saints coach dan o'bree is making a play for 04' RDFL bowen medallist al meldrum to join his vicpol mates at heathcote?
Keilor are after both Meldrum & Morgan however the blues are yet to announce their new coach. The candidates include this years Coburg coach, David Flood. The two are pretty good mates so i think it would be a case of both going/staying, not one or the other. If Romsey had of won the GF i...
Play indoor footy against a few keilor boys and they mentioned that Corey McKernan was a chance to play at the blues and David Flood was another candidate for coach.
Re: Official GVFL thread
would anyone on this thread happen to know of a link where there are pictures of saad saad's GF marks? one was mentioned last week connected to the shep news, but it did not work.
saw that game meldrum kicked 5 or 6 from the ruck aginst wilkinson while the other big fella connellan played forward all game and finished with about the same. didn't think the b&f result was a suprise at all. from all reports meldrum finished with double the votes of 2nd (carroll) but as you...
definately agree there roge. have been a big follower of diggers and in particular the RDFL since i moved to the town about 10 years ago. roge what are your views on the club best and fairest results so far? any suprises or do you think most deserved? must admit i had Damien Niki pencilled in...
ease up pal, my username is a reflection of the RDFL team i support. speaking of being serious, you are throwing around names of macedon players being chased by other clubs, now be fair dinkum, half the RDFL reserve teams could beat Macedons' 1's...
am a resident of diggers rest and go and watch quite a few burra games along with other RDFL games, where i associate with quite a number of people from probably 4 or 5 of the sides.
of all these the only one i have heard of before is wilkinson who if i remember correctly played with diggers last year. wouldn't have a f****n clue who brown desayro and whylie are
