Welcome Isaiah Dudley - Welcome to Fremantle (SSP Selection)

His nickname should be "Bo". Bo Dudley. If you dont know who Bo Diddly was then you are bereft of all hope.

Welcome Isaiah Dudley - Welcome to Fremantle (SSP Selection)

Really hope this boy does well but he will be up against it with his height. Players of his size have to be really really good to make it in the AFL. Caleb Daniel was one but he is an exceptional talent. Another 10 or 12 cms and he would have been a Brownlow Medallist. Go Dudley Do-Right!

2nd Test Sri Lanka v Australia Feb 6-10 1500hrs @ Galle International Stadium

Can you imagine playing in a test which is umpired by Joel Wilson and Billy Bowden. Every appeal would be a raffle.

Smith the obvious choice with Green slotting in at 4.

Travis is just not an opener. He throws his wicket away too often.

2nd Test Sri Lanka v Australia Feb 6-10 1500hrs @ Galle International Stadium

As I said earlier, the powers that be clearly see something very special in young CC..they dont throw out Test caps with gay abandon. Cooper will not do much this match probably..too low in the batting and bowling orders... his career will be watched with interest. My only gripe is batting him...

We are going to miss the GOAT when he finally gets put out to pasture. Such a good bowler.

Connolly was tidy without being especially threatening. Could be a long day in the field.

The selectors ( and Smith ) clearly see something in Connolly. They seem intent to fast track him. Similar to Steve Waugh, Michael Clarke and Green.

2nd Test Sri Lanka v Australia Feb 6-10 1500hrs @ Galle International Stadium

Team balance is the thing here. Connolly will give us 2 left armers and two offspinners in Lyon and Head. Plus extra batting depth.

If it is Connolly in place of Murphy then what position does he bat" I would bat him above Carey but below Webster and Inglis.

    1st Test Sri Lanka v Australia Jan 29-Feb 2 1500hrs @ Galle International Stadium

Carey is the better keeper than Inglis and their FC batting averages are not that different

Any changes for 2nd test. I, for one, would like to see Labuschagne replaced by Konstas, McSweeney or Connolly. I dont care who.

The strange vagaries of the WTC system. A team only playing 8 tests can be ahead of playing 12 or 15

I gotta admit that Carey has turned into a v good keeper. Inglis the better bat though.

    1st Test Sri Lanka v Australia Jan 29-Feb 2 1500hrs @ Galle International Stadium

The innings by Inglis was first class. Almost chanceless and with a minimum of fuss. Did exactly what he needed to do. Little bemused by the pedestrian pace of the current pair at the crease. Reckon smudge might be bemused as well.

Amazing how luck plays a part in life. Poor McSweeney debuted opening against a rampant Bumrah while Inglis strolls in with the side at 3-400 against a tiring attack. Thems the breaks I suppose.

Usman just not look comfortable in the middle anymore. Of course, having said, he will now hit a 100.

    1st Test Sri Lanka v Australia Jan 29-Feb 2 1500hrs @ Galle International Stadium

Dropping Konstas is a poor move. I would have replaced Khawaja as his form has been average and he is almost 40.

    1st Test Sri Lanka v Australia Jan 29-Feb 2 1500hrs @ Galle International Stadium

If Konstas is being dropped because of doubts against spin then he is not up to Test cricket. I would like to see him play and let him have a go at it. I reckon he would do OK.

    What constitutes a 'genuine' allrounder?

There is one all rounder who was generally high class at all facets. Not just a bowler who could bat ok or vice versa. Alas he never got a shot at Test cricket. I am talking about Clive Rice. FC figures of 26331 runs at 40.95 and 930 wickets at 22.39 indicate a real talent.

Take Bumrah and Ashwin out of this attack and it looks a little pedestrian.
