Is football supporting meant to be rational?
Do you support rationally all the time?
If a player is at another club (as Kirky was with Freo) they need to wear that clubs colours. That’s pretty simple. No issue.
If they play at our club then I expect them to wear our colours, not another...
Again, each to their own. I have an issue with this, you don’t, all good.
That’s your perogative, as a passionate swan member and supporter, who bleeds red and white it’s us (Sydney swans) against the world.
I would back us to the hilt, it concerns me that one of our players, is wearing an...
Do you put the onus on the last game or the season I guess is the position?
If it’s only on last game, GF, then should only be players who play.
If it’s based on the season (which I think it should be) then your Nobles, Adam’s, McStay will get a medal also and in my opinion deservedly so.
I...
I reckon if they play over a certain amount of games for the year, they should get a medal. Eg - John Noble, played all H&A games, was part of the reason Collingwood finished 1st, which gave them an MCG run to the GF.
Maybe the cut off is 12 games?
Ummmm…. I think I just said I cared.
It’s a bad look for mine, maybe I am a bit too old school and the value of the guernsey and what that means to supporters.
Why do it?
I wonder how Brett Kirk would feel?
Don’t think it would happen in many other sports to be fair. Certainly wouldn’t...
Think it was a 50 and should be paid more consistently, whether it’s a Daicos or a Berry or a Green. There is a lot of gamesmanship in games around slowing down movement, the AFL need to get serious of stamping this out. We are on the end of this a lot of the time.
Agree on the Horse points, we...
Not a fan of this at all.
My question of all of the Swans diehards here, would you wear a Pies jumper or scarf to the G to support a mate in GF?
Be honest with your answer.
My partner and family are Pies fans and were at the game, I have been to a few games this year with them and not put...
Interesting, saw this on Twitter, since AFL investigated why non-Vic teams were winning in 2007, there have only been 2 non vic team winners in last 17yrs. Probs time for the reverse investigation!! That’s crazy...
Wholeheartedly agree, since Gil has come in, the focus has been on the Vic clubs. Probably because he is basically in bed with Ed/Kelly and co.
Vic clubs assisted “dominance” continues, hopefully Andrew Dillon can address the balance over the next few years, otherwise interstate clubs will...
Kiss weren’t bad but Hame fawning over them straight after has made me ill. Gil books them and Hame tried to convince everyone they are the greatest ever. * off.
Looking forward to watching the game today, will be a contrast in styles, Fagan having adopted the Clarkson/Hawks methodology, kick/mark, solid defensively versus the McRae version of Richmond/Hardwick style of play on, chaos ball moving forward.
Collingwoods game plan suits the club, it’s a...
I think once people’s anger at the situation subsides, we all just wish Cal the speediest of recoveries, it’s unusual but also very unlucky.
Anyone questioning his captaincy should listen to the latest Dyl and Friends podcast with Errol.
Errol basically says that Cal is the biggest competitor...
If we get Grundy which looks very likely this is a huge bit of business and directly addresses our biggest need with a AA ruckman in his prime.
Jordan will be a quality player, similar more so to the Mattners and Shaws that we traded in to address a need, we need more bodies to be able to roll...
For mine, it’s the flow on impact of playing an injured player.
We don’t know how this decision flowed through to the playing group. Did it have an impact? We will never know, it may have though. Reid’s value was in playing 2nd ruck and taking contested marks. He didn’t ruck at all in the game...
Prior to last years GF we didn’t know how bad Reid’s injury was. There was genuine hope he might be ok.
The match committee (and Reid) made an error in playing a clearly injured player. Who has been out for the whole of 23, hence why incredibly injured is a fair summation.
I don’t think...
Articulates what a few of us have been saying in relation to Brownlow and coaches award. Never like to agree with Ed, but prefer that than Gil I guess 🙃...
After all our injury issues from season 2023 (with a lot carried over from 2022, Sam Reid 👀). This one does feel like a big kick in the guts.
Feel for Mills, being Captain he would feel a lot of responsibility and realise the shocking run of injuries we have had.
He will also know that he...
Albo will be taking note as he is the first leader under these attacks to withstand them for so long.
Hopefully it’s the beginning of the end of News Corp influence.
Usually the coaches votes pick the best most impactful player in games. It is rare for a lot of conjecture on these votes.
The umpires votes are all over the shop, who knows what logic is being applied and seems to be getting worse YoY.
Will be giving the count a wide berth next year.
Spot on Millky95 he was a leader and who had the majority of support throughout his time.
He seems to be a lightning rod for criticism, but he has been one of the best Premiers, full stop.
Even as simple as not being held up in traffic due to boom gates, each day I am thankful for Dan for...
Needs a big pre season, injury free, I hope as with most in their mid 20’s that he starts to mature and realise his time is running out. Needs to stop the whinging and just focus on improving himself.
Has the potential but unsure if he has the required discipline to be an exceptional ruckman...
The issue I have is the umps seem to be just deferring their votes to the big name player majority of the time.
They have enough on their plate with trying to officiate the game. It worked with 1-2 umps, it’s a dogs breakfast now.
I agree with caesar88 the coaches award should be the most...
It should change, I understand the concept of change is hard for you to accept, but it is getting close to requiring an intervention.
People have and will start to give up on it or the shine starts to wear off.
There used to be one umpire and then two, it seems with 4 umpires it is getting...
