We have this clown to thank really, because if not for his boardroom coup, we would only have had GWS to beat and people would have said Clarko took the only job going that allowed him and his family to stay in Melbourne. Now, it's clear he took the job he really wanted.
This will be a bit of a walk down memory lane for a few of you Big Footy old-timers. Many of us had the good fortune and pleasure to know the legendary mod of this site - Shane 'Lidge' Lidgerwood, who is of course fondly remembered for his leadership role with the Roosistence movement in...
Yeah that was a tongue in cheek joke back at the time but there was some truth to it. WANM was very organised with the various people having specific roles and responsibilities. Roosistence was never like that. Roosistence had no structure. It was kind of like some nutjob in his mum's garage...
I just don't buy that "van crew" thing. Sorry but his story about doing it for his mate the cameraman (please don't tell me the guy's name is Joe)... it's total bollocks. Camera operators don't hang out in the director's van 90 minutes before a game. I don't give a rat's toss bag about this...
Captain's Bar is a great option as it was a regular haunt for the big bloke (in fact he's probably still haunting the joint :o)
But the Victory Room cover charge is money for the club and I reckon Lidge would say "Pull your wallets out you tight arses!"
Looking forward to catching up with...
Good point - credit and thanks to Eugene, Anthony Trainor and of course Heath O'Laughlin for making this thing happen.:o
And Twinkletoes for suggesting the track.
There is no doubt that Aylett is a muppet. However what you and others fail to appreciate is that if North and the Bulldogs are forced out of Victoria, the shortfall in Jihad Stadium revenue will have to be made up by the likes of Hawthorn and Collingwood.
There is no signed deal for stadium use directly between North Melbourne and Jihad Stadium. We receive the rate card deal that anyone off the street receives. We play however many games there that the AFL chooses to fixture for us. That is how it works.
Just a little house keeping, or rather, credit where it's due...
The magnificent photographs in the middle of the ad were supplied by Big Footy's own Black Shadow.
The video was supplied by Chris Hunt at the Rooshop.

With these endless delays from the AFL, anyone else think that GC-17 might be regretting the decision, or rather non-decision to choose a nickname and start marketing the club as the Gold Coast Stingrays or Sharks or whatever?
Just seems to me that as long as we keep calling them GC-17, they...
That may well be so, although it's worth noting that the three players who were shopped around last year were particularly ordinary tonight and each of them have a younger model waiting to take their place.
I always had issues with the way Wanganeen charged at leading forwards and made shirt front contact with blokes who were completely unprotected in the marking contest. The commentary flogs always used to praise his "courage". It was entirely legal in his day, but that is one of the few...
Of course that is the nature of trends... they follow success.
I fear that the worst repercussion of Clarkson's game plan is that it will be copied by mediocre teams who will not execute the tactics to the skill level and flair of the Hawks and it will look very ugly.
Likewise, you could...
