Are picks draftable in the Rookie draft?
Any way we could move ahead of St Kilda, for example, to snag Brad Crouch?
I realise it would be unforgivably bad form... but we could always offer them AJ and/or Oleg in recompense
Would personally prefer J. Hayes to A. Tomlinson.
The former showed a bit when he was on the park, and - if he's over his injury problems - appears to have a significant upside.
The latter has already shown his ceiling - and it isn't high.
Who does Perryman displace from our current best 22, if everyone's fit and firing?
Lipinski, WHE, McCreery? All seem valuable role players.
Sidey, Pendles, Howe, Elliott or Mitchell? Not if our veteran brigade stays fit.
Is he just a versatile, talented depth option for now?
I love his...
I (sadly) think that some variation of the above (probably 14 & 22) may happen and Houston will get to the Blues, the club he supported in childhood.
Praying it doesn't happen but fear it will.
Even if it does, we'll still have an extra pick or two in this year's draft after the JR deal (hope we...
I'm sure he will be re-signed (not resigned, though lol). I'm pretty confident that, after his first full preseason with us, he'll quickly establish himself as exactly the kind of Murphy Mk 2 we're looking for (if not an intercepting upgrade). In 2024 he was very underdone because of his prior...
Carlton are more like the knock-off Bali bags you get in Prada, don't you mean?
The brand name appeals more to the poor deluded fanbase than the shabby product.
I'd trade (efa) big Mason, Reef and our future 1st for CP, I reckon.
(If we could fit the incoming salary dump within our cap, that is)
... might even be prepared to give away a 3rd-rounder (and AJ, if they'd have him)
Out: Checkers, IQ, Dean
In: McStay, Noble, Eyre
Not a fan of Reef, Macrae or AJ (none of them hard enough to play the roles we need them to nail down)
I didn't realise how important Americano Mason was to our structure before the last two games. Hurry up and get back on the park, Big Fella!
We play North before the bye, so to beat them after the bye would be a very fine thing indeed.
Would be a pretty miraculous performance, indeed. Here's hoping! :praying:
Option 1: We're going to be completely battered, with Bont and his cohorts cutting through our depleted, ragtag VFL boys like a sharpened cleaver through marzipan.
Option 2: Our heroic lads will baffle, bamboozle and battle their way masterfully past the injury-plagued, Bevo-dispirited Doggies...
Nothing wrong with The Madge. A great foot soldier in the army. The last half dozen games he played as a forward in the VFL side were more than passable, too. Could possibly have turned himself into a Checkers-like forward-option-convert.
RIP The Madgestic One!
Out: Howe, HH, Bytel
In: Dean, Schultz, Mitchell
No room for AJ or Kreugs until they've earned their spots via the VFL. Otherwise selection integrity is damaged, if we select on perceived potential/reputation, rather than form.
(Schultz may be one of the next casualties when JDG, Checkers...
Don't care how grumpy or sarcastic you are: we love 'ya, GG!
You're one of us; one of the foot soldiers in the finest army on the planet!
Ca'arn the Pies!
This next match represents a real chance for us to consolidate a spot in the top 8.
It looks like all the top 8 teams are playing one another, which means we could end up as high as 5th.
I reckon we've shown enough lately (in our first three games there wasn't enough 'mongrel' in our approach...
Thanks, Sensei.
As always, you are the font of all knowledge in these things. We love your insights and contributions.
On the other hand, as one of our most illustrious contributors is fond of saying: Just Play Him! LOL
Anyone know when Harry DeMattia might be ready to play senior footy?
He looks like a real gun midfield prospect.
Can't wait to see him bullock his way into our best 22.
I reckon you meant Achilles heel, but who am I to quibble?
The trajectory and content of your arguments were good, even if your knowledge of Classical literature may not be up to scratch.
Why do we need momentum going into the bye? If we were building into a must-win finals match, I'd understand... but building momentum into a bye... isn't that rather like building momentum before going to bed? Seems a little pointless.
