Hey Wookie. Thanks for putting this together. Great to see. If you are pulling the average numbers for brisbane home games from afl tables that website includes gather round as a home game (crowd of 9000 at Norwood impacts the average). Pull the Lions home average from the gabba part of the...
Lions just announced 63 368 members for 2024. 15% growth on the 54k members last year. Here is the announcement below.
Really pleased with this, looks like the club is now in the middle tier of clubs for membership. Ahead of Bulldogs, St Kilda and on par with the likes of Freo and...
Not true - I spent 7 years living in WA and remained true to the Lions. I worked with and many of my friends were Eastern Staters ex-pats that always remained true to their teams. I think the 15% is spot on.
Is overstating their member numbers the reason why the smaller Melbourne teams get such poor crowds for the smaller interstate sides? I look at Melbourne/North/St Kilda getting 17k-25k and I think really 50-70k members in those clubs? We had 31k (near capacity) at the Gabba the other day vs...
The Lions announced 60,358 members at the GWS game today. Up 12% on 2023. Fantastic effort from the club. 31,000 plus at the game today which is huge for a GWS game (only looked like GWS had about 100 people in the crowd!).
ALL - Just a quick HEADS UP for anyone travelling down to PFS for the game this week like we are. I just noticed that Queensland Rail have track closures on the Gold Coast line on Saturday (game day) all day with replacement buses to Beenleigh (link below). M1 likely to be a nightmare as a...
Brisbane Lions 31st of May (Extract from the Chairman Andrew Wellington's message to Members 31/5/2024) - 55,000+ a new record level of Members for the Brisbane Lions, up from 45,000 at the same time last year.
Email Extract: "We currently have over 55,000 members which is up from 45,000 at...
Brisbane Lions hit 42,000 as at Feb 24. Hope the Victorian Lions fans come to the party this year for us to crack 60,000 as the Gabba is practically full. Hear...
