Well, the footy watching marathon continued last night, re-watching the finals.
I'm sure most of you are doing likewise, awesomesauce :D
I pondered to myself at the time, wondering over Joe's reaction after the boundary line goal against GWS....I'd really never seen him so animated and...
Well, I watched the replay twice last night.
Now watching all the Lace Out videos with various radio commentary.
Because that's what you do - revel in footy pr0n :P
But, thinking about everything and watching everything eleventy zillion times, I just cannot help but think of Browny's comment...
Thanks mate - the back to back Crows were a favourite team of mine from that era - Jarman remains a footy God in my eyes. And Blighty totally deserved his flags.
Never stop believing :)
It was another post that I read in the review after the GWS or Geelong thread which referenced our win against Sydney in 2003 which really cemented my belief that we could win this in a canter.
And I also recalled how our threepeat team really was a foot on the throat...
I was :)
I tipped us by 10 goals last Monday :D
They just looked hungry and were riding a wave....Sydney, to be frank, relied on their midfielders kicking goals as their forward line was young and a work in progress......and it's hard to win GF's by relying on midfielders to kick a bag.
In the dark of the night
I believe.
In the cold light of the day,
I believe.
When the ball is bounced
and the struggles begins anew,
The focus shifts
And I believe.
When the goal is kicked
and the breath is ragged,
with the supporters silent,
I believe.
When all seems lost,
the path forward...
Yeah, I get the footy aspect insofar as fitness goes.
My discussion point stems from him simply not having sufficient time and opportunity to prove his fitness - the known points revolve around the length of time it takes as an average and that he wasn't going to have the benefit of a full game...
Dude, if he plays, if he doesn't play, makes no difference to my confidence, at all.
You lot could trot out your 22 from any of your GF's this week and I'd still be confident.
It's a discussion point, nothing more.
And that's my point - I contend that Longmire HASN'T learnt his lesson.
If he needed a full game under the belt in the eyes of the coaches etc, then the fitness test today was irrelevant and the decision could have been made a week ago.
But what is being reported and what hasn't been otherwise...
I'm in the opposite camp....
More Lid Off threads!!
More "OPERATION" threads!!
:D
But then, I never ever give up on our guys - unless it becomes mathematically impossible. Which isn't always a good thing, since optimism as a supporter takes you only so far....after which the cold, hard data...
"Mills left coach John Longmire’s office “in tears” after the meeting that confirmed his fate, according to Channel 7 reporter Ryan Daniels."

Man, I really really hope it's a psyche out, because otherwise it just isn't a good look, given they could have ruled him out a week ago.
What a farce....he did the recovery, went through the process, appeared on camera during and following the session to proclaim he trained at 100% and felt great.....
....and the coaches still ruled him out.
Sorry, but the whole thing has been handled in such a ham-fisted way that I again...
Mills update:
I feel this scenario, unfortunately for the Swans, is one of those where whatever you do it will be wrong....but you'll only know that afterwards.
They really should have come out strongly and decisively and ruled him out/in earlier - because regardless of what they do now...
