I can still envisage there may be interest in our FF. Richmond clearly the most likely with their stock of picks in the late teens/20’s. But would we be prepared to part with it to pick someone other than Hotton?

I really think Hotton was tracking to be a top 5 pick pre ACL. I’ve seen him live a bit and he’s a jet. If we are going to have a crack at him that’s great though.

I’m not sure he’ll unfortunately slip to our first pick. In fact I’m sure he won’t. But he would be imo worth consideration to trade back into the draft to have a crack at. Shown at VFL level he can be effective already. Moves well and importantly has a lovely set shot kicking style.

Jobe Shanahan is one I’d give consideration to trading back in for.

Ultimately think that we will need another A grade mid via trade. Butters or H.Reid or whoever. We may get lucky and land another Holmes but it’s unlikely.

Also about having a balanced list. We have seen a couple of talls depart so we will need coverage in that type of player.

That’s my rationale as well. Next years draft is a bit ho hum - all the good kids are academy kids - so I’d be all for trading our FF in a Holmes scenario.

Like the look of that. Jack Henderson has been mentioned as a potential mature aged option. I’d be looking at Jacob Heron as previously mentioned too. Think we’d be more likely to only get a pick in the 20’s for our FF. I wonder if there is more likelihood we trade our F2 back into this year?
