Oh dear.. you only listen to what you want to hear and it's selective, very selective. 🤦
I actually rewatched the game this morning and we were 70 to 30 in favour of the Gold Coast.. pumping up Ben Moyle in the ruck/forward.. Sam Day and my favourite AFL player Jed Walter (commentatorsget...
We were awfully bias to the Suns.. I say that as a Suns/Bombers fan and know the VFL list inside out more than any supporter.
Statistically Gold Coast should have won the game on all fronts before it started and we said time and time again during the call that the Suns can kick 4 or 5 quickly...
In the AFL, callers have access to multiple screens.. In the VFL, we have our eyes and that's it. It's really handy having other callers with you if you can't identify a player due to angle, distance etc.
I'll agree but disagree on the player names.. best callers get it right more often than...
There was 2 of us yesterday.. I only hear the FX mic personally through the cans.. I know with commercial systems, there is software in the mixer that balances out all channels. I've worked with them on many occasions as a caller and tech.. my sound and the issues around it isn't limited to...
Haha all good mate.. I actually need to thank you personally..
I was doing some voice samples with my wife and went to that 'screeching' level when getting excited about something.. and then went to a much more clean and crisp level when getting excited.. the 'screeching' uses far less energy...
Getting content on VFL is extremely hard.. supporters are naturally bias, and so they should be because they invest their lives into their team, and it's great. I love how much Brisbane loves the VFL, they have the most passionate supporters in the country for this comp.. which is fantastic for...
Ahh the good old G A W N.. I have a lot of mates around the country and some overseas who watch/listen to all my calls.. most who, like me.. don't follow Brisbane.. and quite a few who are very high up in the AFL.. that catch phrase is something they love and makes them feel good because it's...
Haha thanks mate.. coming off the back of COVID.. the last time I got COVID my brain fog was so bad that I forgot my address and phone number, and my boss' name.
Being laid up all week, I was worried I'd forget all of the player's names, especially learning Sydney's the morning of.
And poor...
Thanks Crusha, can you please highlight exactly what upset you about the commentary today? We're you upset that I spent 2 minutes pumping up the tyres of Logan during a break in play and then the very next act, he committed a spoil, won possession and laced up a target under pressure inside 50...
Please Warwick.. enlightened me, what specifically bothered you with my commentary? What specific details? I know this Brisbane Lions VFL team better than any supporter because no supporter cares about the player's QAFL background.. who went to watch Wyatt play QAFL last weekend when he won the...
Please enlighten me, what was wrong with my commentary? What specifically upset you?
I spent the previous 5 days in bed laid up with COVID .. getting up and going to the ground was the first time I left the living room in 5 days.. so I'm really intrigued to hear specifically what upset you
The pleasure is mine.. I enjoy seeing teams come up here from Vic, I feel like a kid walking into Wonka's Chocolate Factory seeing 23 players almost for the first time and truly appreciating their art.
I've been lucky to call all levels of afl up here but there is something about the VFL that...
Haha I've seen a lot of Brisbane since moving up here.. Geelong had a stronger backing and cleared the ball better through the back half into the forward line.. Knevitt, Hardie and Clohesy dominated the midfield.. if I had to name a top 10 for my best players, Reville and Macpherson would have...
I've got a Podcast up and running and had the pleasure of chatting with Adam Santarossa who is one of the talented young callers coming through the ranks in the football space. He currently works for ESPN.
I've clipped out one of the segments where we discuss the growth of not only women's...

Not surprised to see a few from Rupo follow Skip across to Riddell .. Skip is one of the great football minds in the region and held in high regard by most of the community - it's not hard to see why players would want to play under him.. I wish I was local so I can see him coach in action...
Congratulations to Woodend/Hesket - what this club has had to endure in recent weeks and still get two teams into a Grand Final is an act of courage that can't be replicated in any other capacity .. to say goodbye to 2 members of The Nest on Friday and Saturday; and then to back up and get...
Cadsky hit the nail on the head here with the exposure of the game being so much greater than NSW. Additionally, a big wave of Victorians have moved up to South East Queensland over the past decade; Victorians who grew up loving AFL, and naturally, bringing that love to the Queensland region...
As an outsider looking in (appreciate the conversation earlier following the commentary side of things) .. the Swans Academy should be the life-blood of the VFL team; and will be a key to who the club picks up when it goes to the draft.
I've only been in Queensland since 2019 and around the VFL...
Haha the pleasure is mine .. I can't speak for other umpires, but from my experience; I look for the free kick first - pay that; and then notice the team.. so that takes out the favourtism.. and up here; we have one game per week and probably six umpires, maybe seven that fight for 3 spots; so...
Great question mate .. everyone is different and I'm most definitely the wrong person to ask that question to. I've umpired over 450 games across various levels and through Victoria and Queensland .. I'm very one-eyed when it comes to umpires and I'll wear any knocks that come with that; and...
Haha cheers mate .. I wouldn't call it 'having the guts'.. it's BF, no-one takes it overly seriously., it's footy.. it's just a hobby... at the end of the day, I've got AFL experience and I'm on the fringe of more opportunities; and I work with some of the best AFL callers in the country; that's...
I grew up in Woodend.. a stone's throw away from Hanging Rock.. how about you mate? I was fortunate to cut my teeth as a youngster building a call team to broadcast matches for the Riddell District Football Netball League .. we covered games in the Southern Footy region; Gippsland and Tatura as...
BP is a champion.. I've worked with him across tennis and AFL .. he saw a space in the tennis market and attacked it.. and now he's the Tennis Guy in Australia .. I feel for him because he's an old Fitzroy fan and since they became Brisbane, he fell away from that and I'm saying this on a Forum...
