Hey everybody, I always look at this thread due to friends playing at Sandgate & Zillmere. Had the pleasure of coaching against the woodsmen on Saturday and I can confirm that IMO they will be right up there again. They had some very smart players but obviously starting pre season later their...
Have heard on good authority that Rob Dickfos will be taking on a coaching role at Caboolture next year. Heard he agreed to terms last week. Will be interesting if he can lure a couple of disgruntled Sandgate players to come across. Also, I hear there maybe a possible name change for next season.
I have it good authority Sandgate have appointed Bomber to coach next year. Pretty strange to think they would not advertise the position but after the way Rob was treated, I'm not entirely surprised. Can anyone from the Hawks confirm please. I also had a conversation with Rob Dickfos last...
Popped down to watch a bit of Aspley & Kenmore in the scoobies ( had a mate playing for Aspley). Interested to know why Aspley only had 2 on the bench as far as I could see. I take comfort knowing there are blokes who fill the jumper out like I do still running around. BS to the rumours Kenmore...
For those teams playing Redcliffe early in the season maybe bring a bucket to have a wash with after the game. In the councils's wisdom, they have ripped out the changerooms but it would appear nothing is moving along at any pace. I doubt it will be ready by round 1 going by what I have seen
Morro, I think he plays his best footy close to goals going by his performance in the GF last year. He seemed happy to run forward but lacked the defensive skills especially later in the game. He is a geniune gun in div 3 though and will be just as much a handful in div 2.
Hey Morro, is Buzz going around again. In my time playing in the comp he is one bloke I have enjoyed playing against. The fact that he and I sought each other out after playing so we could have a quiet Corona is one thing i will miss next year. At my tender age of 41 I was willing and able to...
Oh how i miss the banter of Div 3. Even though my club has gone up a division I still find myself peeking at the thread. More banter, more fun and some outrageous rumours makes for interesting reading. Over at D2 things seem to be more serious. Can't even poke fun without hurting someones...
Me, I'm dreading the preseason ahead as the good intentions of fitness have made way for my frosty friend and copious amounts of arse sitting.
I know the feeling. I have driven past our home ground on a daily basis and I always think to myself it is time to start. Now my bike is out of...
I have heard Nambour are keen and the AFLQ are keen for Caboolture to go up more so beacause of their large investment into the new facilities. The mail is there will be no answer until EOM.
Personally I think some Ressies sides will struggle with time on in finals. UQ were by far the fittest team we played so with this in mind I think they may be hard to stop. Buffs2011, if one K.Burridge fires on Saturday you will be a big show. Played with him back in Melbourne and I see he is...
Anytime Buzz, though at my tender age of 41 it is getting harder. Good to get your prosective of how you guys are going. I know there is a big rivalry between the clubs but if you can seek out your opposite number after the game and then take the time out for a chat, those sorts of things help...
Finally Geelong 9999- u got me Brad and well played sir, well played. I must admit I am disappointed its you haha I was hoping it was the pathetic excuse for a human being with the awkward mullet on your bench or better still the waste of space that tagged me in the first half- he is a joke and...
Two big thumbs up to the way the Roosters went about their business in both grades yesterday. We got the jump early in the magoos and though the result was never in doubt the Roosters put in all across the ground.
Their seniors had a red hot crack especially after half time so they should be...
Graham, alot of credit should go to Denis for his job in keeping the 18's going at Caboolture. The way he coached the kids in the past few years is a credit to himself and the club as it keeps the kids coming through. We here at Redcliffe have had about a dozen or so kids from the 18's now...
Spot on Morro. I have only been in this league for the last 3 years and it's seems to be dropping off every year. Morooka's 2's had more of a dip than their seniors and though it was a 14 goal quarter they had no enthusiasm from about the 10 minute mark of the 1st.
In saying that they must be...
It works better in the EFL where the premiers come up only. In the ammos the grand finalists go up but without an influx of better players they drop straight back down. I think it is a good way to go but obviously if the gap is too big then it won't work.
Mighty, the Nambour vs Caboolture 2's game is now nothing more than a practice match. I walked over Redcliffe's ground this arvo and yes it is wet but has dried considerably since last night. 29 degrees today and predicted sunshine on the weekend. A decision made in haste. Anyways you look at...
Redcliffe received alot of water yesterday as most others would have. Middle of the ground wasn't too bad though i couldn't bounce it but outer rim was particularly wet. Weather is fine here now but will be a water logged game one thinks.
Spot on there Neutral. Have done alot more running pre season than in the past where they concentrated on skills. Probably about 6 under 18's from last year with another 2 to come in. believe it or not #57 has lost a truck load of weight. Could barely run a lap last year without stopping. #52...
I see a particular full forward who is mentioned here a fair bit has a clearance pending as of today. Will be a massive loss and a massive gain to his new club.
Redcliffe have had an influx of several players but have also lost some experience. I know they are keen to have a run against Nambour to see where they are at. I think the 2's my struggle this year with the Ruckman gone interstate and Frusher and Ricky Bob not sighted so far. Whereas last year...
Season draw has been released. Nambour and Ipswich are both in division! Would be interesting comp if 1 pulled out and the other went up, heresay only fellas.
I have heard Redcliffe had 60 different train before Xmas. They have been doing a couple of extra sessions to obviously get fitter. They will also have an inclusion of youth as upwards of 10 kids from the U18's are now eligible.
They have the same coach as last year but now have a new ressies...
I coached against Mayne this year in the 18's and if their top age kids hang around then they could do ok next year. i have also heard of an U18 kid from another club who maybe stepping out for the Tigers next year. Big call i know but this kid can seriously play. If it happens i for one will...
