I was actually glad to see Sammy getting a little angry here and there, just like I was kinda happy to see him going off at Scrim last year. Aside from those times, I've only ever seen him all chummy-chummy with the players. And being good mates and having a great relationship with the players...

I’d like to see Will Mac tried as key forward at some stage in the next 3-5 weeks.

Will’s 23, and potentially a generational player for us. He has a bare minimum decade ahead of him. His day will come!

Yep, no injuries to come out of pre-season is a massive plus. Our injury list isn't as dire as some other clubs' is, at this stage anyway, but having both Lewis and Clasher out simultaneously is just as massive a bummer. Hate to say it, but I'd almost rather have one of them, plus someone like...

So, kind of an indifferent, mildly disappointing pre-season. I’ve got a feeling we’re going to start slowly again (both in-game and in the season overall) and work our way into it, pace ourselves. If we can turn 3-3 after 6 rounds (rather than 1-5 like last year), that’ll be an ok launching...

We really do need to do something about: a) our slow starts; and b) bombing it long straight to the opposition. Both of these things happen in the regular season too.

Excellent article. The concern with that gameplan is that, with all the hype around us now, we are on the radar and opposition coaches will be putting more time and effort into countering it. Hopefully Sammy and the brains trust will be tweaking and evolving it....
