    Mega Thread Brett Ratten

We do not have the list Geelong had by some way, two of our most important players Waite & Judd are close to 30, Waite has major question marks on his body, leaving a major gap in a attack that is already one-dimensional in relying upon the output of the small forwards with opposition teams now...

    Mega Thread Brett Ratten

There is no doubt Ratten will survive until the end of the season, but the facts are he has five + years in the job now, we are still hovering around 5th-8th, we are going to face a major battle to finish in the 8, it is becoming questionable whether we have the capacity to move forward, as...

    Preview Rnd 11 Carlton v Geelong @ Etihad Friday 8th June 7.50PM

Good to see you are getting a level of comfort from Ratten's post match comments, however facts are talk is cheap, and reality is this has been going on for six weeks now with no sign of any issues being addressed. Your comment of a few little things to adjust, we have had two 10 goals...

Opinion Its not time to abandon ship

We have NOT had injuries and weakened sides in all of these losses, it has just become a excuse to now use this for our total loss of form etc, we had a very strong side in most of our games except for the last two weeks, losing Murphy is a major blow, but since round 3 we have basically only...

Opinion Its not time to abandon ship

It is not the fact we are losing games, it is the way we are losing without committment/work ethic etc, please do not use injuries as a excuse for this, if you had not looked at our draw our season is likely to be gone in a month, reality is the problems run much deeper than you believe.

Opinion Its not time to abandon ship

Have you had a ook at our draw the next month, there is a strong chance we will be 6-8, playing Geelong/West Coast/Hawthorn/Collingwood, we have no chance unless there is a massive form reversal and the group showing a willingness to start working hard again, but this does not take into account...

    Lay off Ratts ya nitwits

The team is playing without committment, working hard for each other, lack of improvement in so many players, good players have gone backwards this year, lack of development improvement in our list. There is no doubt both the entire coaching staff & the list will be reviewed at year end, you are...

    Mega Thread Brett Ratten

Re: Respect for brett ratten We cannot continue to make excuses with Injuries, sure we have our fair share, but we lost to a bottom 4 team by 10goals, too many players have gone backwards this year, the team is playing without committment/character/willingness to work hard, basic fundamentals...

Game Day Rnd 10 Carlton v Port Game Day Discussion

Time to stop the excuses, we are 6 down against a bottom 4 team, some people just seem to accept this level of performance, it is not acceptable.

Can we make the top four?

Blues are gone for top 4, based on our draw over the next month, we will be outside the 8, a total review will be required to understand the direction this team is heading, as it has become very clear that CHANGE is required.

Travis Boak - is he worth a poke?

If Boak decides he wants to return to Melbourne to whichever club he may choose, a deal will get done, it does in most cases for players that wish to change clubs, Geelong have quite a bit to offer, and the Blues are serious they could convince him, they would have come up with a reasonable...

Travis Boak - is he worth a poke?

Considering we are still YET to establish ourselves as a top 4 side, not convinced our salary cap will be near the max, both Gibbs/Kruezer who are in talks at this point, not sure either at this stage has elevated themselves to be above $500+ based on performances this year. At the other end...

Can we make the top four?

You are underestimating the improvement in some of Bombers players, Crameri,Hardingham,Stanton,Ryder, Bombers are likely to be 12-3 or 13-2 at R15 based on their draw, they have a tough next month after this but even if they drop a few, you would suspect they will have enough wins in the bank...

I am going to pose a question about Gibbs and I expect serious responses

There is no one here denying Gibbs is not a very good footballer, but the real debate is whether he can elevate himself to the next level and become a geninue a grade player, we have been waiting for the last few years, the only two real A graders in our team are Judd/Murphy, we are waiting for...

Can we make the top four?

As much as Carlton fans hate to admit Bombers have improved significantly, we are 2 games behind them right now + %, we have lost Murphy our 2nd most inflential player for most of the season, we do not play well at Ethihad, combined with the fact we have failed to beat top sides with regularity...

Can we make the top four?

The teams that we will finish top 4 will be consistent over the season something that has gone missing with Carlton, we all know first 3 were good, but what has happened since then, sure a few injuries, but we have reasonably good sides against Essendon/Adelaide/Saints and we were beaten easily...

Can we make the top four?

Still don't agree a team will win from outside top 4, West Coast are very well placed, and expect Collingwood to be playing well at the pointy end, it is enormously difficult to win 4 games in a row against strong opposition, must finish top 4 to have a real chance. Essendon have improved...

Can we make the top four?

West Coast are certainties for top 4, Collingwood will make top 4, we are 2 games behind Essendon and they appear to have a good draw, l think these 3 will make top 4, the only team we may be able to dislodge is Adelaide, however looking at their draw and unless our form improves significantly...

    Preview RND 9 - Carlton v Melbourne Sunday 27th May 3.15PM @ MCG - Team Post #391

Is this actually fact, whilst there is a doubt on Henderson, l would expect Kruezer to play, Blues will not want to be taking this too lightly as a loss would spell disaster. Main issue is the lack of flexibility by playing the 3 ruckman.

    Trade/Delist 2012. The tough year.

Do you think Travis Boak is the type of player we require, he looks to be considering returning to Victoria, we desperately need someone, if for no other reason than to prelong Judd's career.

Re: RND 9 - Carlton v Melbourne Sunday 27th May 3.15PM @ MCG Agree Joseph had some good success as a shut down mid-field tagger two years ago, but his career has stalled, teams know his weaknesses now and can expose him, it is almost laughable the Blues select...

Re: RND 9 - Carlton v Melbourne Sunday 27th May 3.15PM @ MCG Ratten has a different set of rules for various players, Joseph was awful two weeks and returns after doing nothing last week, Thornton played okay early in the season and was dropped both times, clearly not one of his favourites...

    Preview RND 9 - Carlton v Melbourne Sunday 27th May 3.15PM @ MCG - Team Post #391

Re: RND 9 - Carlton v Melbourne Sunday 27th May 3.15PM @ MCG l would not make out Hampson is exempt from scrutiny as his performances along with Kruezer has both been poor in recent games. Warnock is highly likely to return this week with either one of the two given a spell.
  24. M

    Trade/Delist 2012. The tough year.

Your post is devoid of logic, you let your best tap ruckman go and receive unders in compensation similar to Jacobs, how does this improve your list, expect Warnock to return this week for the remainder of the season. As long as Mitchell's body is sound for the remainder of the season, no way...
  25. M

    Trade/Delist 2012. The tough year.

This is complete rubbish, Warnock is our best tap ruck by a long way, if we lose him we will not get full compensation exactly like Jacobs, who was also a much better effective tap ruck than Hampson/Kruezer. We need to secure Warnock or risk losing out like we did with Jacobs/Grigg. If...

I am going to pose a question about Gibbs and I expect serious responses

Gibbs has been a very good half back, but he has developed some bad habits in terms of his game being totally dependant in getting the easy ball, he has the size/skills/quality to be a elite mid-fielder he just needs that intensity that most elite players have, Yarran is back in defence, time to...

Re: RND 9 - Carlton v Melbourne Sunday 27th May 3.15PM @ MCG Hopefully the MC will not fall for the trap of bringing back Mclean, a backward step, no reason why Robertson & Ellard cannot play this role, and then put the acid on Gibbs in the next month that he is going to play mid-field and he...
