Current Final 6 - What a joke
Nothing against SFX but we have a side that finished 4th, that lost in the first week of the finals, that then gets rewarded by playing off for promotion/GF the following week against a side (Kew) that by winning in week 1 kept SFX in the finals.
Shows how much...
Not that good bigwaz......pretty sure the two's played that year (2004...showing my age here) on smaller ground next to main oval and it was the ones that got washed out due to a lake at CHF on the main oval (smaller ground wasn't available at 2.00pm)...was very thankful that I was playing ones...
on the weekend the powerhouse ressies ump could have easily paid a free kick to them in the goal square in the final 30 seconds of the game that most likely would have most likely won them the game but didn't.....
its a tough un-rewarding job that at our level most clubs struggle to find...
i would suggest you'd rather play out there while it is still warm rather than the middle of winter...
two times ive played (june/july)there its been pissing with rain and freezing....from memory the ground gets wet rather than muddy...
wow!! a latrobe and north brunswick GF in the ressies would be an interesting affair. hopefully doesnt happen from a kew ressies perspective.
also well battled to RC on the weekend. game was pretty much up for graps until horne's last goal in the last couple of minutes, especially with a...
from kew, keeping in mind that votes are given for finals, will be out of bell, bagnall and fultheim i would have thought.
comp B & F. the onballer from north brunswick will be up there (#6 i think...jeffrey)
[/B]
does the vafa have the ability to grade new teams entering or do they have to start at the bottom (d4) and work their way through the grades. (i.e rupertswood)
would have thought a 12 team d3 would be the best place for a team with such a strong feeder school to start rather than...
i heard on SEN during their local footy hour that ivanhoe (d2 now d3) are looking to merge with old ivanhoe grammarians (a now b). not sure of the benefit to ivanhoe (d3) as most playing spots would be taken up by players from the school team.
was SEN so most likely isn't true
not at all....odds will change by this time tommorrow, depending on:
who gets 1st: AP or Latrobe (final 5 makes 1st spot gold!)
who gets 3rd: kew or richmond (final 5 makes 3rd so much better than 4th)
who gets 5th: ML or SM (final 5 makes 5th so much better than 6th;))
good to see that...
this would be the current premiership betting market before round 18
$2.00 AP
$4.00 Latrobe
$10.00 Kew
$12.00 Richmond
$25.00 Mt Lilydale
$33.00 South Mornington
will be winding ML in if they get up over AP tommorrow.
Re: D4 2009
AP wont be resting players...if they win on the weekend it's automatic promotion to D3 without having to win a final. huge reward!
both games will be close with AP to beat ML and a draw between SM and Manningham.
is it alway that windy down at KB reserve?? good atmosphere there with the RC past players day.
kew happy with the win...considering we only kicked one goal after 1/4 time...that wouldn't happen very often
3rd-7th still very tight...as kew & ML still have AP and Latrobe to come (I think ML do).
kew player reported for unduly rough play...which pretty much means that the umpire deemed it was reportable but couldnt find anything else to book him with (i.e striking)...pretty sure the kew player is accepting the prescribed penatly (2 weeks) as to not waste his or the AP's player time tonight.
you will have to wait and see...but trained the house down last night
...also hope the rain holds off although kews ground just soaks it straight up, except for the middle of course.
should be a good game 3 v 4.
are you wearing the lovely vafa alternative strip tommorrow??
yaman from swinburne kicked 13 out of 20 goals agianst mt lilydale. thats a fair effort .
kew play them this week....what type of player is he...remember a while back someone saying he is quite small and will play more in the midfield. i take it he played more up forward on the weekend.
you didnt answer my other question. 7 goals and no best...are you trying to slip under the club 18 (north section) radar? :).
is georgey getting a kick??
........gee thats an ordinary excuse to miss a game of footy ;)
oldtimer - 7 goals (out of 12) on the weekend and not even in the best..whats going on there??
I wouldn't call Kew a big ground (although a 5 goal wind up to the top end may have made it seem longer)....wait until you get out to Latrobe
north brunswick have improved heaps from last year...a win is not far around the corner for them i suspect.
good hard fast game played out at latrobe...the ground was in perfect condition. result could have gone either way in the end but latrobe probably played more consistant footy for the most of the day, while we (kew) played well from about halfway thru the second quarter and maybe just ran out of...
