Kouta on Charlie... “You might be lucky to get one in a decade, although I need to be careful as I don’t want to put too much pressure on him, particularly a guy like Charlie who’s just turned 21,” he says, before pausing a moment to collect his thoughts. “It’s unbelievable, when you think about...

Given we've just had a list turnover that's at 2003-levels, here's a look back at 25 years of questionable recruiting - http://www.footyalmanac.com.au/go-back-to-where-you-came-from-a-best-xxi-celebrating-25-years-of-questionable-recruiting-at-carlton/ - hopefully we've got it right this time...
We’re two games away from paying Brendan Fevola $10,000 for a cameo.
We’ve already reached the point where I don’t give a goose’s shit if we do.

Apologies for the intrusion, but if you want to know how we're feeling about things, this sums it up - http://www.footyalmanac.com.au/the-incompetence-of-carlton-part-xvii-like-shooting-tuna-in-a-teacup/
By my count Friday night has cost the club, hundreds of 2016 memberships.
Rabble.
Not sure - pressed my mate further and what he's gleaned is he wants to stay but the Dogs are floating him as bait. Compounding the issue is rival clubs are also offering much better deals… Apprantely it will all come to a head on 3 October. But it’ll most likely be at Carlton, if not Geelong.
Realise this sounds a bit dubious but...
My (Bulldog-supporting) mate's cousin got engaged to Shaun Higgins on the weekend. Among what was discussed at the celebrations was that he's likely to be wearing navy blue next year.
Part 1 of the Season in Review.. or a post-mortem if you will.

Anyone else's reaction more relief than disappointment? Let's be honest, we'd only had a tenuous grasp at best on this season before Saturday night. At least now we can focus on 2015, and show cause notices being issued to DUN DUN DUNNNN Essendon... http://www.footyalmanac.com.au/pull-the-plug/
If last night teaches us nothing else, it is that Menzel should never again wear the substitutes vest. I’m not usually a Malthouse critic, but his decision to start Menzel as the sub last week places him morally somewhere between a Rwandan gorilla poacher and a back-alley...

It's taken me a while to get around to this, but my take on it is that the criteria on which this list was selected greatly lowered the cost of admission to greatness at our club... http://www.footyalmanac.com.au/the-peoples-elbow-buzz-cut-how-the-champions-of-carlton-missed-the-mark/
It goes deeper than on-field. Much deeper. The salary cap penalties we copped 12 years ago provided us with a five-year excuse that has resulted in a second-rate culture and a mediocre club... more here.
Not my 'Best 22' strictly speaking, rather 'my five' - a search for five players to "emotionally invest in", because I'm not sure you can cope with more than five. Part IV here, with links to the preceding parts...
I've watched Robbo exclusively for a quarter during a couple of games this year. Fair to say he has some pretty significant weaknesses in his game in terms of knowing what do do when he hasn't got the ball/is not in the play. Not a smart footballer. I wouldn't lose sleep were he to be traded.
My take on yesterday's delistings - it's a ruthless business and we've got to be, well... ruthless http://www.footyalmanac.com.au/malthouse-as-chaplin-the-ruthless-reality-of-cutting-the-carlton-list/
Plenty worse than Yarran against the Swans on Saturday night. Plenty.
If it's the mental aspect of his game we need to get right, then add him to what is already an exhaustive list.
