Ha ha, I've been a bit slow on the uptake over the last couple of days and saw this and freaked out, didn't see it anywhere else, sorry if its old news. What happened with it then, was it just bullshit?
HAWTHORN
Have done the deal for Shaun Burgoyne, with the details to be revealed tomorrow. It will involve pick nine and a player. Meanwhile, could reluctantly send Josh Kennedy to Sydney. <...
Re: Pick 9 + Campbell Brown for Burgoyne??
I ****ing hate Burgoyne and if we lose Brown I'll stop watching them play. This is the stupidest trade suggestion I have ever heard.
Why would you offer the toughest player at the club for an injury prone running marshmallow.
I would rather lose...
I would prefer Jolly, I think we can make up pace with another player, a good ruckman for our midfield would be unbelievably beneficial to our side.
Jolly smashed us and I would love him to feeding Mitch, Hodge and Sewell.
I'd be trading for Jolly over Burgoyne every day of the week!
I think the money could be better spent elsewhere, is there no other option for trade? But if that were all we stood to lose to pay for him I wouldn't be as concerned.
I know it's another Gibson thread but I am curious as to why the Hawks would make such a ridiculous offer for an undersized backman/midfielder???
Is he really the answer we are looking for? I know we had troubles down back this year but seriously we need a big strong back, not another third...
Fantastic news... perhaps a little premature considering his injury history, but fingers crossed.
I hope they play him for a half and then rest him, just so he doesn't feel too much pressure.
Well done Musto, your a champ, time to show them all just how f'n good you are.
Go Hawks!
I agree it was a terrible move... I have never ever been a fan of Barker, he was all smoke and mirrors when he played and cannot understand how he got a coaching job.
My jaw hit the ground, and my head still shakes at the decision to bring him back to the hawks.
He was dead weight as a player...
He plays his best football when Croad and Gillham are in the side, so my opinion is no.
He is not great at reading the flight of the ball and is constantly out positioned. When the ball hits the ground he is ok, but I think Whitecross is better.
There are plenty of undersized backmen in the...
If the Hawks want Buddy back in form they need to get him out from goal.
He needs to touch the ball, have him roam from just outside 50 and tell him to run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run run all bloody day long.
If he gives away a stupid free kick drag him.
If he...
Positives:
We won
Roughead kicking 8, can't hurt his confidence
Sewell he is so so so so important
Fev missed his 9th goal
Dowler on the improve, made mistakes but finally he has turned up to play.
Negatives:
Murphy frustrates me no end.
Mistakes cost us badly
Sloppy play stopped our momentum...
Disgusting call, pack of morons, angers me to no end whenever Walls calls a Hawks game, unbearable when he calls a Hawks v Blues game.
Is he capable of putting together one single unbiased sentence? I think not.
Pull ya head in!!!
Having said that... the single most gratifying experience...
I would rather not read your excuses John Barker!
The fact is we were outgunned in the ruck, however we showed very little desperation, we were often 2nd or 3rd to the ball, outnumbered all over the ground and our disposal was appalling.
This week we are against arguably another "good" side...
My very first favourite player was Lethal, but I was like 3 or 4 and my dad would talk about him all the time so I would too.
But my first favourite that I chose was Dermie.
The last person on the planet I feel sorry for is Gazza
The fool makes half a million bucks a year, what does he have to complain about!
I'm glad he didn't win Brownlow, B&F or a premiership medal this year, don't have much respect for sooks! If he keeps up this 'why me' attitude he is...
Hawks posters only laying into the Cats posters so badly because we were the underdogs, and not many gave the Hawks a chance.
I love reading the Hawks sticking it up the arrogant Cats posters... Humble pie tastes pretty sour Cats fans!!!
As far as I'm concerned this is the most disrespectful thing a fan of our club could ever say.
Who cares that Geelong won the most games this year? who cares that Geelong were considered virtually unbeatable? who cares that they are the benchmark of the competition? Who cares that we didn't...
Extremely positive body language, you can usually pick the side that is most hungry by their team huddles and their body language.
Keep it up Hawks, united we Stand!!!
Watching Hodge last night crashing packs, taking marks and laying vital tackles inside the defensive 50 with what seemed to be cracked ribs, was truly inspirational.
I could not help but think of Dermie when Hodge was keeled over after spoiling, then getting up and starting to run and spitting...
I was born in 80 so the only one I don't remember was 83, but I remember the heartbreak of 84, 85, 87 and even though I was a kid its not something that you ever forget. But the joy of 86, 88, 89, and 91 is amazing.
I remember the ones we won fondly and am ready to feel that again.
