    England v Sri Lanka 3 Test series, 5 ODI's + Sri Lanka ODI's v Ireland and Scotland

It still mystifies me to why Bell was left out of the T20 game, he should have opened with Kieswetter in place of Lumb who hasn't made that many runs this season. Broad should have opened also and used Woakes as first change. Good idea to have Morgan as Vice captain though. Has probably the most...

4 Test Series: England v Pakistan

Englands bowlers all over pakistan again, why did Butt choose to bat surely he must know his strengths are in his sides bowling.

    Ponting loves Tait

Thorpe is right, he is a match winner and a quality strike bowler but you need all your other fit and firing. Also a dependable spinner who could how up an end would benefit but is Smith ready for this role? (I haven't seen enough of him) I know one thing for certain, if he was English he...

    Test Squad v. Pakistan

So who is this Peter George then, all I know is that he is tall! What can he do with the ball? Good line and length like McGrath or pure pace like Lee? Plus what happened to Peter Siddle I really rated him when I last saw him play, has he gone off the boil?

5 Match ODI Series: England v Australia

Tait was awesome, but I can't see him playing many test his body just won't hold up to those kinds of speeds, which is a good thing for other test teams! I thought pointing looked good in parts, seemed to be trying to win the last couple of matches all by himself after other batsmen failed...

    2nd Ashes Test: Australia vs England @ Lords (Thurs-Mon) [Day 4 ]

Re: 2nd Ashes Test: Australia vs England @ Lords (Thurs-Mon) [Start Day 4 - ?] Very interesting days play ahead. Im in 2 minds about it. One side I want Strauss to throw Fred and Jimmy then ball and have it done before lunch. On the other side it would be gripping if somehow it ends up in the...

2nd Ashes Test: Australia vs England @ Lords (Thurs-Mon) [Days 2 and 3]

Re: 2nd Ashes Test: Australia vs England @ Lords (Thurs-Mon) [Start Day 2 - ?] hopefully this rain will help England, Onions to have a bowl on return. Yes Broad has now got pace and bounce, but he puts so much effort into bowling fast he forgets to bowl at the stumps. a more probing line that...

2nd Ashes Test: Australia vs England @ Lords (Thurs-Mon) [Days 2 and 3]

Re: 2nd Ashes Test: Australia vs England @ Lords (Thurs-Mon) [Pregame - ?] Punter was definatly unlucky. At one point England were 2-222 now Aus are 2-22! Fred will get another couple of overs after lunch then Onions will come in.

    English test squad for Cardiff

I agree with the call to go with Onions ahead of his Durham team mate. Harmy may have taken a few wickets in the Lions game but Onions county average this season has been fantastic. He also bowls a probing line wicket to wicket consistently which is something the English attack has been lacking...

    Brett Lee's Future?

I think it was unfortunate for Lee that after years of living in McGrath's shadow he wasn't apply to live up to expectations and lead the attack. His game was down and so was Australia's and now, when he is injured the youngsters have come in and Lee has been cast aside. But I still think he...

Who have been the most disappointing Next Big Things in English cricket?

he took 7 wickets today, he will become great but not ready for England yet. Saying that I could see him getting wickets in the tests in India, he did very well for the Lions there

    England recall Harmisson

Being a loyal Yorkshire supporter I can clarify that Hoggy is still a great bowler but has lost a bit of zip. His figures in the one day game are getting better though! But I fear that if he doesnt get back into the England set up soon then his playing days will be over.

because of course there has never been a dissapointing aussie player!

    Vaughan out as England captain

KP will get it, the ECB want a captain for both forms of the game. Picking Strauss would make some sense as he did a ok job before, but his form with the bat isn't good enough. And Key wont come straight into the team and be made captain.

Rate a player - Jimmy Anderson

definatley improved this summer, and if he continues to improve will become one of the main bowlers in our side. The fact that he is keeping the likes of Jones and Hoggy shows how much he has improved. I watch Hoggy week in week out at Yorkshire and have to admit he has lost a bit of zip but he...

Is English cricket about to re-enter the doldrums?

oh and back to the doldrums! no way! we are back to doing what we do best. You guys have already said that we do great comedy and music, and indeed we do. Thats what our cricket team is there to do, make people laugh. And we incorpriate music too, everyone knows that Ambrose was selected...

Will Michael Vaughan be captain of the Engerland Cricket Team in the Ashes 2009

Read is an excellent keeper and is having a great county season considering that he has also taken over the captaincy, but he is damaged goods as concerned for England, if we were to go for a natural gloveman it would be Foster. Prior may have got some runs but he still has faults in his...

Darren Pattinson called into England Test Squad

oh and that article is just another jab at English cricket- 'If, as Vaughan said, Pattinson's selection unsettled the team dynamic, it is an indictment on England, for one of Australia's great strengths during its long era of dominance has been the seamless introduction of new players...

Darren Pattinson called into England Test Squad

Will Michael Vaughan be captain of the Engerland Cricket Team in the Ashes 2009

totally agree with Cook, definatly the future captain, just wish he was clocking up a few more runs, since he has played one day he has been playing more wayward shots. Prior cant catch for shit, and although he has scored some test runs and has been batting well in the counties he has always...

Will Michael Vaughan be captain of the Engerland Cricket Team in the Ashes 2009

Vaughan needs a innings of substance and then he needs another, and then another. I would like to see Bell at 3 and Vaughan at 5. Bell is turning into the fluid attacking player that Vaughan use to be, but Bell still needs to convert more 50's into 100's. Vaughan will remain simply because...

    2nd Test - England v South Africa - Headingley

Im glad this test is over, the selectors need to come up with a new plan. The king of swing Simon Jones has to play espcially at Edgbaston, if he bowls in 5 over spells like he has been doing at worcester he will still get results, Fred bowled quite a few overs so should be able to take the work...

    2nd Test - England v South Africa - Headingley

there are a few 'fans' calling for him to be dropped. I think a move down the order could help his game. If you move him down to 5 and move Bell up to 3 or bring in someone like Shah or Denly at 3 then I think we would be stronger. It will give Vaughan the chance to play his attacking shots and...
