Pre game review? Now that is just confusing Johnny.
Last time I heard of a Perfect season was when the New England Patriots went 16-0 only to lose the Superbowl to the New York Giants. Wouldnt it be funny if.......
I never thought I'd see a team with 7 on the bench and only 15 running around on the field. But then again there are not many teams like Hawthorn Ressies. A team where the footy is not their main priority, and hasent been for many years.
Some classic pics on the Gryphons website, showing the state of the ground at Mt Lillydale.
http://www.monashgryphonsafc.org.au/?p=2936
The Ground is not even up to Mud wrestling standards far less football.
Craig Williams was seen out at Mt Lillydale training last night with his umbrella poking at the ground, the report is a Penetrometre reading of 5.53 and a Heavy 10 rating.
Players will be running wide to avoid the worst of the slop.
P.S. Just a mention to the reserves umps in our games - great job. I thought the guy from Prahran was fantastic ....and we are always very grateful of the fantastic job that Ian does from our club.
Not surprised you rate him highly. Ian paid 1 free kick to us and 12-13 frees to the hoes...
G'day Redgum - How is the bloke that was taken away in the Ambulance a couple of weeks back?
Hopefully all is well and the injury hasnt effected his family/work.
Could not agree more with points 1 and 2. The forwards push up far too quickly - Has to be coaching decision to do that.
Bailey needs to get into Jurrahs ear more as well, he cant play from behind and try for MOTY as much as he currently does. Its not good enough.
I am not buying into this report. I spoke to him at the Intra club, and he said that it is a slight quad strian and that he will be back in full training in a week or so. Putting your hand up for round 1 I asked, he replied yeah, no worries there.
Up to 88kgs he is as well.
Some great reading in here this week, well done everyone. Far better than the normal stuff... Nickoteens thought for the day.
Funniest comment was by RECORDS saying you shouldn't post such rubbish on an internet forum...hahaha
I dont really care who wins this week, as long as Bentleigh lose...
Having a look at the draw over the next 4 weeks, I cant see Powerhouse or Uni winning another game.
THe House have -
Hawthorn (A)
SMS (H)
St Johns (A)
Bent (H)
Zero wins and % heading South.
Uni have
Elst (A)
STFX (H)
WB (A)
SMS (H)
Maybe some hope at WB.
But all this looks good for...
Can someone confirm that score from the Powerhouse game?
Surely they didnt kick 1.9 and lose to Uni Kicking 6.7!
Zero goals combined to half time and 2 to 3QT.....????
I ran into Peter Stuyvesent at the Rosstown last night, he was saying that one of the Mahoney brothers may be in doubt this week. Now I know that the word of a guy that likes backing the 4 dog at Dapto on a Thursday night is that strong, but is there any truth to the rumor?
Sidewinder, is it any conincidence that Dave Smith is back for the game against the Gryphs, getting one run under his belt as a warm up prehaps? It sure looks like he dominated that game against SFX.
It was interesting to note that Bentleigh have followed the lead of Swinburne and have the music pumping in the showers after the game.
At least it wasn't Swinburne's Techno, as it did sound more like Triple M, do they take it in turns to jump out of the shower and change it to Gold 104.3...
St Marys played some very solid football, great run throughout the day. Al Dwyer #35 had a big game and needs to be paid attention to as does Patty Dunne #18 who would have to be considered the best ruckman in the league. Early Favourite for D3 best & Fairest, in Icebergs eyes. Darren Hill #12...
There was one paid down at Rathmines Rd in the Ressies.
We were told down at the club that as long as there is a contest then rushing a behind is fine, the only thing the VAFA was trying to outlaw was the act of walking the ball over the line. Guess it didnt take long for some trigger happy...
Anyone who is going out on Saturday, can we all please jump the fence as soon as the 1/4 time siren goes. One of the best things about these types of games is getting out there amongst it. I know last years game against North, they stopped us from getting on the ground, but this is a little...
Well done to Williamstown, never really in doubt.
There must have been 12-15 down the ground free kicks against Eltham (maybe 6 in the last 10 minutes) 8-10- 25 metre penalties against Eltham for the day. Coach gave away about 8 Free kicks throughout the course of the day (Starting to get the...
Iceberg sees both Williamstown teams as nice favourites.
In the Seniors:
Williamstown minus 22.5
In the Reserves:
Williamstown minus 30.5
I will take all bets from Quasi, I know he is wanting to back the Turtles.
