What's happening out at Bridgy timebomb? Hanging around the Marong club rooms I saw two older gentlemen from Bridgy (assumed, as they weren't Marong guys) standing toe to toe ripping shit through each other regarding the time some players get and why others are in the twos. Seems to be a bit...
Some brilliant ideas. I know if Marong had a minibus it would be filled by the tight ar$e uni students instead of the U/17 though.
I would be good if we could have some of these ideas implemented on a league level rather than club level. I know when Marong struggled for Juniors just a few...
Wrong Phar_lap. Marong talked themselves up to play finals - not win the flag. Even then we copped a hiding from a few for being this optimistic.
Good to see Franks back and dishing it out aswell. Seems to be a few angry little souls on here at the moment.
Neither Barry boys have done any training yet anywhere as far as I know. Freddo is still hounding them, but I think to much money is on offer back home. Plus training is 'optional' for them back home.
Still confident we will see one of them in Blue, Red and Yellow.
Fair Point GG.
But last year Marong were competitive for the first half for most games. But then died and handed a few thrashings. Hopefully Marong this year will have the endurance to be competitive for four quarters. If our fitness matches everyone else's you wont have to 'wait for Marong...
Spot on Hirdy. Why wouldn't any side be aiming for finals. Why else are we here.
I think a few people will be surprised with the improvement from Marong. Freddo has worked damn hard recruiting, fitness is at the foremost of pre-season so far and the quality young players sticking around...
Looks like Trev had a good Christmas, He must weigh all of 70kg's now.
Where do you think Trev should play gerta. He does get pushed around a little to easy for dominant/key positions.
I hear the Barry boys are looking at playing locally again. Spoke to Dale on the weekend wants to play but doesn't want to train ever again. Apparently Andy is keen to play at Marong or maybe BFL for a year, wants to know what its like to have a big ego. Lets hope they both sign before...
Spot on Frank. If the LVFL has 9 competitive sides flogging it out each week than the crowds will improve, funds improve, grounds, player and facilities improve. No one wants to go see a side getting pumped by 15 goals thats boring. But a side winning by under three goals gets more exciting...
Surely not. Marong need to look at key position players to strengthen their side. Picking up reserves players from the BFL only gives you flankers and pockets, thats if they even make LVFL seniors.
Just heard Lee Franklin is to be Freddos right hand man at Marong. Dont know whether as assistant coach or captain. Either way a top bloke whos willing to do the hard stuff. Can you confirm or deny this Hellboy?
Talking to a Miti player last week who would be more than happy to see Wicks move on. Apparently he is a massive tool in all aspects of life, not just on the footy field.
Who's Bill talking to now Hellboy? It would have to be one of the Frankel boys, I'm thinking Toby.
Spot on Hellboy.
YCW have really shoveled it on to Marong in the past and that last game was more embarrassing for YC than Marong. But this has created a great rivalry. I read earlier that Moose has pulled the pin from the committee, Surely not. One of few blokes at YC who's head isn't up...
I know Marong was keen for Metrovich a couple of years ago but didnt have the funds. Is he one of them Hellboy? Maybe cheaper due to injuries and heard he will never return to the Slagheads?
I disagree. The pace and skill at which Elmore/Mount game was played at during the year was fair better than the final between Miti/Newbridge.
But having said that I have played in both leagues and think the LV is a far better league, maybe not in skill but in competition.
found this link in the HDFL forum.
Classic.
A bit of inspiration to all those in finals

Better late than never. I wonder if this has this been organised and funded by the league or by the club.
Lets just hope it doesn't create some soggy parts of the ground. Consistency all over the ground is better than patches of green next to dust. I know a few players who have done knees...
Thats a juicy grapevine. Murph has a great understanding of the game and has been seen at the club rooms occasionally throughout the last couple of years. Plays like a champion but is way to polite and nice. He just doesnt have the mongrel Marong needs to put a few slackers back in line...
Anyone who thinks Knackers is a serious thought for a coach is off with the fairies. He has only coached the two because Marong have just accepted that he will do it. He hasnt taken coaching seriosly for 3 years. hasnt played seriously for 3 years. He just love the club.
Marong need to be...
I see HDFL are pursuing to get the new Strath side in their league.
Should the LVFL look into this or is every one happy having a bye. My brother tells me their facilities look impressive. A possibility to have league finals and functions there. I think I would still prefer the bye though...
