Analysis Should we be pursuing a secondary market post-Hobart? If yes, then where?

It’s one thing having a secondary market, and completely another to hand a home game to the opposition, thus compromising our ability to get a result. Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

I’m not here to convince you or anyone else. And I don’t have a direct source. But I’ve been told this by a bloke who does have several sources and is on the money more often than not, so I believe it’s worth sharing. Am I saying it’s 100% factual? No. Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

I get the feeling he was pushed. Coaches must have given him a rocket and targets to meet in order to get a game and he decided it was all too hard. He might have been offered a settlement as part of that push

Do we know what's the contract length for Konstanty? 1 or 2 years?

As long as we move him away from the backline

That's only because of his original contract. If he was on a 2 year deal (like most draftees) no way would he be extended

Preview 2024 National Draft Preview Thread

No I don't. But we may get 6/18. My preference is to use future picks to get back into this draft, even if it's for a pick in the 30s and keep pick 2

Preview 2024 National Draft Preview Thread

Pick 2 is still pick 2 in any draft. Even if the top 6 is roughly equal, clubs still have their preferences and they pay to get guaranteed access to their preferred player. Same as when Essendon gave us their F2 just to move up a couple of spots to draft Harrison Jones. We took Comben with our...

Giving up 25 and 44 is hardly "jeopardizing our draft hand". We have kept the prized pick 2 and gave away two ok picks that are easily replaceable. If we want to use our F2 we should be able to obtain a pick in the 20s from one of the teams with academy bids who find they don't want to lose the...

What’s the inside word as to why he hasn’t played a game for them and why they were going to delist him after just two seasons? We keep absolute spuds for longer Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

I’m fairly sure this won’t be the case. It’s not just pick that can be split. There are futures to play with. We will definitely have more top picks in this draft Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

Yes. But would need good draft picks and trades/FAs to replace that many blokes in one offseason. Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com

Carlton paid a pretty high price for it. They have decimated their hand in 2025 In saying that, there is always a chance for them to trade back into it next year, hence why I'd rather we trade our F1 now and leave pick 2 alone

Which would currently leave us with just two decent picks in the draft. We could offer 44 provided we either split our pick 2 or F1. Otherwise we would prefer to offer F3 to the Swans

You hae to take into account not just the unknown finishing position but the 12 months of extra player development. Any first round pick this season gives you the player here and now. A future pick has a 12 months lag. You only get the player for 2026 season. This absolutely reduces the value of...

So Port essentially just improved their pick 39 into 36 and 58 down to 50. Lost their F1 in the process and got 13 and 29 for Houston. Not really counting fringe players like Atkins and Richards, it essentially means they gave F1 for Lukosius. No way is he worth a first round pick.

List Mgmt. 2024 Trade & List Management Thread - Part 3

Well, future picks are definitely valuable so I would say our F1 is probably equal to roughly pick 8-10 in value, even if it ends up being a top 5 pick. Therefore if we swap F1 for 13 in this deep draft it's not the end of the world, especially if we can grab something else from them like pick...

It's interesting that when West Coast forced us to pay more years ago by making an early bid everyone blamed Simmo for it. Yet here when Swans are acting like absolute dicks everyone blames some new list manager instead of pointing the finger at their coach, a once favourite son of our club who...
