I’m not sure what we get from playing him. As decent as he was for the first half of the season there’s nothing he’s doing that someone else couldn’t do. Leadership? Can’t say he does anything particular inspiring. It’s a nothing selection each week that could be better spent developing someone.
He's the Essendon prototype small forward we've been drafting for years. Slow, not particularly skilful, but kicked a couple of goals once so we'll persist for years.
Playing at about our expected level. Had a decent fixture and barely got over the line over some awful sides. Sitting in second with such a low percentage tells you where we’re at. Not end of the world stuff, just an average side still building up.
Charges too quickly to use it when you’re not pretty much next to goal. Useful for the shots where you wanted a quick kick at goal instead of waiting 30 minutes for the meter to charge and shanking it in the goal square.
I haven't played in 9 months, so can't comment too much on the overall gameplay, but it feels reasonable. The R1 quick charge for on the run shots is a gamechanger, though. No more belting it out on the full waiting to charge up a shot.
Can not figure out set shots to save myself anymore. Am I adjusting for wind or some arbitrary swing? Because it seems to go in a random direction no matter what.
Compared to release the game is miles ahead. Pretty fun now, but still a bunch of frustrating issues.
Auto-interchange is still cooked. Every game Draper is swapped for Harry Jones, and with how important the ruck is against the AI, I'll just get pummelled in the centre bounce. Easy way to have...
Feel like I can't get a disposal out in a tackle at all now after it being consistent enough yesterday. Plus player responsiveness is still a bit garbage. Would kill to get a quick snap on goal out of an inside 50 clearance.
Games much more playable even with some jank. Still going nowhere near management mode, though.
Had the AI have a push in the back against, that was a surprise. Still think there’s those tackles where everyone stops and it should be a free but the AI just picks it up and ****s off with it...
There really needs to be an option for a quick shot. By the time my player realises they have the ball, turns around, and then I charge the kick the balls already down the other end.
Plus not being able to control a single player, and my whole team stopping, when the cpu marks makes it...
Game is fun enough for AFL game standards. I’m getting some entertainment even though it is campaignered in parts. Few things:
Kick outs are cooked. Either goes out on the full or a deliberate rushed behind. Can only torp it.
