Will collingwood grab a ex player in draft?

I am starting to warm to the idea of drafting Fev. He would fill that 3rd forward role beautifully in combination with Cloke and Dawes. Would form such a potent forward line. Imagine Fev kicking 6 goals against Carlton! Of course he is some risk with his propensity to self-destruct but at 30 and...

News Welcome to Collingwood Peter Yagmoor

Great to have another Peter ***moor(e) running around for the Pies. It's been a long time.;)

    Toast Jarryd Blair

very impressed with him so far - looks like he really belongs out there and a really hard in-and-under type we need for finals. Already I get the feeling he would be less likely to let the us down in a final compared with Leon and provides another tough midfield option. I like the nickname...

News Luke Ball may lose licence

Re: Luke Ball may lose license I think he should take the 12 month good behaviour option. As long as he doesn't lose any points for 12 months he gets all his points back and he can keep driving. I did the same thing and got all my points back last month.Somehow I haven't lost a point for over a...

    Pick 30

If Josh Thomas is still available at pick 30,we should take him.Very impressed with his clearance ability and his use of the ball is top class. Reminds me of a young Shane Crawford in size and style of play.

    Future Magpies Watch '09

Looks to be a very promising mature-age prospect. 2 league and 3 club best and fairests and part of premiership teams at the age of 22 is outstanding. The accolades from his coach and team-mates suggest a player of high skill, courage, leadership and loyalty to club and team-mates. We could do a...

THE Mick Malthouse thread (Part Deux). All MM talk goes here

Would it be reasonable for the Pies to look at Buckley coaching our VFL team for 2 years and assist Mick with match-day duties in the AFL when their matches don't clash? I think it would help Bucks develop his senior coaching, for the club to have a look at his coaching abilities, and also play...

    We love to Travel.

I recall Peter Fitzsimmons, who is an ex-wallaby, saying as a guest commentator on channel 10 before the ANZAC match, that he thought it odd that the players arrive at the ground individually and in a random manner. He said that in rugby union they would all stay at the same hotel and arrive...

Why Does it hurt so much??

horrible mental picture..... this actually made me laugh out loud and cheered me up from being totally depressed to just merely miserable!:D

Anthony Rocca, Paul Medhurst in doubt

Can Steele come in if he is not listed as one of the 3 emergencies? I think McCaffer should come in for Rocca. The conditions will much better suit a medium forward than a slow big forward who is not great when the ball is on the deck. I still remember his poor 2 possession outing against...

Jaxon Barham - Rising star Rnd 4

Fantastic effort! Almost as good as his old man who IIRC kicked five goals playing on the wing on debut. Well done Jaxson.

    Saw Ben Cousins Tonight

I would think that Ben would be more astute than to link up with another fallen eagle in michael gardner. He needs to distance himself from any connection to his previous negative influences. Therefore i would be very surprised if he ends up at the saints for this reason alone.

    Stanley

I think he's a natural centre square player and clearance specialist. quick hands , tackles fiercely and very good overhead. Unfortunately he didn't get a go in the middle so we didn't see his best footy. Even so, he did get 16 possessions and laid a few tackles. There was one contest where he...

    Collingwood V Casey. VFL update

guess he probably played then ;) although i see he didn't make the bests. NEVER will be a premiership player and should be traded or delisted imo

    daniel harris to collingwood

Always liked Daniel Harris, particularly his in and under work/clearances. He is capable of performing at a much higher level and think Mick could bring it out of him.He is the sort of player we need atm. Is a 3rd rounder and a player a fair deal for both clubs? I think it is.

    Collingwood V Casey. VFL update

Dont think Frost is up to it tbh. not the sort of player we need imo. lacks some class -not clean and misses targets too often for my liking. did egan and barham play today?

    Lade for a year?

the idea has some merit. trade fraser for a second rounder and ruck with wood and lade with bryan in reserve . develop keefe and thoolen and whichever ruckman we draft this year in the vfl.

    Chris Bryan

yep, trying to kick a massive torp from the back pocket that landed on the chest of the opposition 45m out last night sums it up. should be dragged immediately for that rubbish imo.

    impressed WITH him.

    McGuire backs Didak and Shaw

the theme of redemption and getting a second chance has been pushed by malthouse and mcguire in the last week or so. I'd say not only preparing the footy world for retaining both players, but possibly even opening the door for ben cousins to get his second chance too.

Hawks v Pies @ Shepparton - Match review here

a few points from the match -there was a noticeable lift in intensity this week -good hard running and tackling. -disposal effectiveness improved especially in second half as game opened up. result-far less costly turnovers and smooth movement into forward line -the quicker we moved the ball...
