Stephens has much more upside to me, I don’t see why we can’t have both though. We have the PSD as an avenue as well. Just not sure about fitting both into the team, unless we have Josh Daicos in a high half forward role (which I think that’s where he’s best suited anyway).
It’s normal for a first year player to have these kind of games, he needs a block in the two’s but with covid that isn’t an option atm. He and Bianco have both dropped off a little, they’ve been shown enough for us to know they’ll have futures at the club. No need to panic imo
I was so wrong about this guy, loving his game this year. He’s taken massive strides, easily our best tall option up forward this season and more than serviceable around the crowd in marking contests. Very happy with him.
Wouldn’t say all our kids had stinkers, Bianco definitely did but it’s still his third game or so. It’s to be expected.
McCreery definitely wasn’t bad, he was pretty good actually.
Poulter did some really good things but also made mistakes, doesn’t mean he didn’t play his role today. He just...
Seems to like playing against Melbourne’s midfield, has had his two best midfield games both on QB clashes now. He’s actually put a solid month or so, he’s starting to get some consistency. Hopefully it continues and he becomes the midfielder we know he can be. A midfield next season of De Goey...
Callow has to be the pick if he’s available, picking up a 24 year old forward just doesn’t make sense to me at all. We’re not going to be contending in the next 2/3 seasons, you take the younger prospect to match up with the clubs timeline. Johnson may be a good player but he will be in his late...
Actually very good in tight, I liked his game in the contest. I can see his qualities when he’s playing midfield, the only problem for Tyler and it’s the same when he plays two’s is that he can’t get any cheap possessions and doesn’t impact the game unless he’s in around the contest. Not sure if...
We have a lot of players that are barely AFL standard let alone consistent best 22 standard consistently playing in our team. Players like Madgen, Thomas, Mayne, WHE, C.Brown and to a lesser extent (some will get upset at this) Noble are all players that shouldn’t be playing in the same team...
Absolutely stoked with our work tonight, we’ve been ultra aggressive and we’ve brought in team needs. Great work so far, would love to see another KKP come in with 46.
Crocker needs to go, he is absolutely useless. I don’t care if he’s kicked two goals.
Drops sitters, loses his feet and isn’t he supposed to be a pressure player?
Nervous as hell. I feel this game is crucial for our season, I will not be happy if I see Treloar, Pendlebury and Sidebottom taking the first centre bounce. I’d love to get De Goey in there early to set the tone.
Hope the boys can get the win on the road, we need to kick start our season.
Effort wasn’t great in the contest to be honest. People talking up our midfield like it’s one of the best ever and they dish out that performance.
It was evident we lacked Adams today, so why doesn’t the match committee select Greenwood? (Something isn’t right with Sier that’s obvious)
Callum...
Incident happened at Penny Black (pub in Brunswick), he got in a fight over a girl. Apparently he grabbed someone’s girlfriends ass and two blokes jumped him.
This is coming from my mate who apparently saw the whole thing. Just the info I got on the situation, could be bullshit but he’s certain...
Hoping we pick up another KKP project player with our last pick and we snare Atu in the rookie draft.
If a team selects Atu in the rookie draft before us, can we match it? What happens?
Still gutted about so many little moments in the GF to be honest.
- 1.50 to go in the first quarter score is 30-2, Langdon fails to rush a behind they kick the goal and get another before quarter time. Really hurt us.
- up 39-15 late in the second, two junk time goals again make it 39-27
-...
Thanks Jaz, you were a massive and underrated part of our premiership success.
Players like Blair, Macaffer, Dawes, Wellingham, Reid ect.. all of these young kids pushed out the old veterans in 2010 and the hunger these kids had suited our system to a tee. I’ll never forget their times with...
I wouldn’t say Beams is in the twilight of his career, he’s the same age as Sidebottom, hopefully they both have 3-5 years left in them. Having such depth in the midfield means they can both get more resting time and won’t be relied on so much. Pendlebury is definitely in the twilight however...
Grundy’s averages this year really aren’t far off that already.
Disposals: 20.2
Clearances: 5.2
Marks: 3.5
Tackles: 5.2
Goals: 0.3 (could be much better)
Goal assists: 0.3
Hitouts: 39.9
I’m sure his stats would be much better in the back half of the year too on average.
Considering we had 4 players kick 30+ and a number of players kicking 20+ I think we’ll be fine...
Plus without De Goey missing through injury/suspension he could’ve kicked around the 60 mark.
