He is durable but lets not forget he missed half of last season due to injury. Sure it might have been a one off but these things happen more often as you get older.
I'm still waiting on odds to go up a bit more before betting on CC. He did take the fight on 5 weeks notice to cover for big nog and received an eye injury during his last training session, so it's unlikely he'll be able to take a decision. Hes always had decent takedown defence and I think...
UFC 119:
I think Cro Cop and Sean Sherk are both decent value considering their chances of causing upsets against Mir and Dunham respectively.
At this stage I got $20 on Sherk at 2.90.
With the odd they are offering its almost worth backing all the > $10 underdogs. Surely there will be 1 big upset out of all the games and that's all you would need to make a profit.
Of course I haven't done f' all research on these games so do as you please.
Green could easily knock out Lesnar in a bare knuckles stand up fight if he can get close enough to land. In an MMA fight Green's head would be getting knocked through the canvas via G'n'P.
As for MMA vs Boxing never happening, it happened in UFC 1 and is happening again in UFC118 Randy...
Whilst this used to be the case I think they've become more professional players and have taken some acting lessons in the off season. They haven't been springing to their feet nearly as soon or often as they used too :p
Also, don't be fooled into thinking this same diving at the slightest touch...
Most of my bets are H2H on the NBA, UFC and AFL with an occasional bet on the ponies, boxing, soccer and cricket.
Having said that I will bet on anything if I think the odds are in my favour, I have successfully bet on TAX rates going up and elections :)
If you think the ads here are bad try watching the CBS broadcast of Strikeforce, seemed like there was more ad time than fights on the last card!
Having said that, I would love for the UFC to be on free to air.
Upsets happen regularly in the UFC, but normally the main event fights are predictable. Don't see any big upsets on this card Anderson Silva and BJ Penn are just too dominant.
Renzo is probably the best chance of causing an upset on this card.
Big Show, Khali and Mark Henry are all way too slow.
I'm going to go with Kurt Angle.
UFC has shown that a good amateur wrestling background is the best base to becoming a successful fighter, basic submissions and boxing can be learnt fairly quickly.
And we all know Kurt won an Olympic gold...
