    Analysis Our tall stocks

I liked the video on Sims, all strong overhead marks with the ability to time his leaps perfectly. He will be a nightmare for opponents whether on the forward line or dropping back to the backline when in the ruck.

A 7 foot tall KB with hair and all. Totally works for me, what a frightening prospect running around on the half forward line. ^^

Review Winners and losers - trade week 2024

We had to lose big to win big, the change of the guard with retirements, desertions and dispersing of our premiership player stock have left us thread bare. That said we have had a great opportunity to rebuild in this super draft bringing in talented youth to support the remaining senior...

    Analysis Our tall stocks

Rags to Riches! Most drafts have very few good talls. The fact we thieved most of them in this draft and left so few for 17 clubs ... well ... I will just have to live with my conscience.:moustache: No need to lose sleep, our new tall cubs will take a year or two to mature. They can learn...

    Rookie draft

Look back at our recent premiership teams, a lot of the players were initially rookies. Not sure I have added much to the thread but any reminder of our 3 recent premierships makes me happy ^^

    The Ty Vickery legacy

So Ty Vickery was a good ordinary player as Jack Dyer would say and Bolton was pretty exceptional during a period where we won 3 premierships, now we have picked up 3 high picks for Shai in a super draft. I have to agree with you OP its a pretty solid ancestry.

Game Day 2024 Draftmatmas live celebration and melt thread

Exciting draft for us and from all I read one of the best drafts ever and we dined well, even jumping back at pick 57 to collect the 22nd rated player in the draft. 3 premierships in the past 8 years and the new kids have big boots to fill but we can be patient, we battled through 37 years of...

    List Mgmt. Pick 27 & F2 Traded for North 2025 Round 1

A good trade for both parties IMO, we likely get about pick 4 or 5 next year but North get a player this year who would have been top 5 in any of the past 5 years. I hope though he does not turn into the next Wayne Carey (in a football sense) or we might have to hide this thread lol.

So glad to see the Tigers went back for him, his family are such staunch tiger supporters and it goes back to his great great grandmother. I can imagine the family's' despair after the pundits had him going first round (rated 22 overall) and favoured to go to his beloved Tigers. To see Richmond...

First Play with ladder predictor for 2023 who would have believed it Richmond premiers

https://www.afl.com.au/ladder?Competition=1&CompSeason=52&GameWeeks=758&ShowBettingOdds=1&Live=0#predictor As I went through it with my totally unbiased assessments it seems we will be undefeated as well. ^^

Have Geelong and Richmond destroyed the SA clubs?

Certainly put them on the back foot. Like GWS a few years back. Losing any grand final is devastating, getting smacked is worse. Both have good team cultures so I am sure they can put disappointments behind them. Look at Collingwood, they have lost 27 Grand Finals and keep getting up off the...

    todays current day rivalry

It does eb and flow with time, Geelong Hawthorn was the one for a decade now the Hawks are in rebuild, I think Collingwood Essendon is likely the most lasting one, regardless of where they are on the ladder the Anzac game is always a blast. I quite like the Showdown as well.

    All time leading behind kicker?

I would have to nominate Mr Pearce our under 17s coach. He was always kicking our behinds.

Analysis If Dustin Martin wins a 4th Norm Smith medal and premiership will he be regarded as the greatest player of all time?

I am sure most Brownlow Medalists would happily swap their Brownlows for a Norm Smith in a premiership winning side. Would a 4th make Dusty the best ever? For us Richmond supporters we will take it and everyone else is welcome to their opinion ^^.

Proposal to include premierships dating back to 1870 gathering pace

Yeah, not happening, nice for Carlton not much interest for anyone else. I guess if no Carlton supporter under 30 remembers winning a premiership you can dream about rewriting the rules. Why not add Port Adelaide's 36 premierships in the SANFL as well ...

Time to scrap all Vic clubs and create 3-4 mega Vic franchises

I am sure the AFL does not want to turn its 9 game round into 6 games and lose a fortune in sponsorship, not to mention the huge crowds to Melbourne venues each week who would not only have less games but would no longer even have their own teams.

Opinion Are we on the verge of another period of dominance from teams not based in Melbourne?

Of the interstaters Brisbane look good with their good recruiting, and Sydney are there abouts based on last seasons Grand Final, Freo? maybe ... I think though Geelong, Melbourne and Richmond (who have also recruited exceptionally) are more likely to top 4. Apologize to Collingwood who could...

Port and Richmond, why isn't there a rivalry?

Have only played each other 36 times in history. Of those only the 3 finals have been historic. Port smacked Richmond in 2014 after Richmond won 9 in a row to sneak into the 8 and 2 recent prelims where Richmond took the chocolates in Port's back yard. They haven't either pulled big crowds to...

    Analysis Best Ever Rookie?

Cox is the standout, nice effort with the highlighting OP I think you have chosen well, never been a fan of Milne, he kicked too many goals against Richmond

Kane Cornes doesnt think Trent Cotchin can kick 25 goals in 2023.

Kane Corns plays the heel in the WCW, that we keep reacting to his questionable edicts shows he is doing his job well in the media. Ah for the good old days when Lou Richards would make a similar pointless prediction but also be willing to carry Mick Nolan (the Galloping Gasometer) or Jack...

List Mgmt. AFL draft: Analysing all 18 clubs’ first-round picks since 2013

3 flags, its been a great 10 years. Often the true gems are not the first rounders, look at how many of our rookies have become premiership players. Smart teams too 'borrow' first rounders from other clubs, take a bow Deon Prestia, Tom Lynch, Josh Caddy ^^. Welcome Tim Taranto and Jacob...

    Autopsy STACK at it again!

It's a pity, he was exceptionally talented but just never quite got the best out of himself consistently. If though he could not focus on his football in such a good environment at Richmond surrounded by gifted indigenous players you have to think he will never reach his potential. Just hope...

    Richmond membership tally 2023

It would be strange if we did not set a new record this year, arguably our team for 2023 is the best we have had in the past 10 years. As I go through our list I have to catch my breath, its frighteningly good on paper. In 2022 we were a fit Dusty away (a goal a game) away from finishing 3...

2023 Richmond guernseys + merchandise (+ on the hunt for a new sash sponsor that isn't bloody green)

    Have Geelong become too powerful?

I am sure they don't think so. They have found a way to stay relevant even whilst playing a string of prelims and accordingly with poor draft picks. We are a bit cheeky as Richmond followers OP to be rattling this bucket
