there are plenty of plenty of players who didn't make the team who are better then those that did, that's not how the team is picked...

Would the AFL be happier with designated zones a la netball. Less players around the ball more one on one contests around the ground, less congestion etc whilst i understand it’s extreme - serious question, is this the ideal structure in the AFLs eyes??
I remember learning to play football...
Very rough deal... Most big forwards do but I’m not sure what it is about him, maybe it’s cause he has such long arms and looks a bit unco in the contest at times but they just don’t call it.
I didn’t want to see Reid dropped last week, he competes well in the air, is a good mark, much better than Cox below his knees and today was used as the second ruck ahead of Cox and is a better shot for goal and can kick them from 50. Cox is great to kick long to, rarely outmarked, gets a raw...
Deserved a whack for this, originally I thought 6 weeks but the more that comes out I’m thinking he shouldn’t have been allowed to play finals. Such a stupid thing to do, players all know not to do it, how much more could the club or afl do. Who knows what impact to the season this has, such a...
Their averages are pretty similar - Hawkins is gun but when lynch is up and about he’s a very good player. Hawkins has also played his entire career in a great team. Lunch will get 500

Seemed to start the year better last year though but i haven’t looked at the stats to verify.
On track for a 60 odd goal season so a very good year for key forward.

10/11 looks to be the better side and was more dominant. Give their midfield the edge, and forwards and the backline.
Depends how this team goes in next few years though. Need to snag a flag to be level and multiple to be better

I think Reid’s ground game and handballs and pressure all far superior to Cox. Think he generates as much scores from this as Cox does his taps and knock downs.
Still got great hands and seems reliable in front of goal. I thought he played okay / Good Friday. No worse than most of coxs games...
Think you got that backwards, he got there first. Hurn would have pulled up for the tackle or collected TW in the head earning him the free. This is as bad a squib as you’ll see.

I think the footy show was good before there was so much access, now it’s not as necessary. We either want funny or proper discussion.

I doubt he would umpire any different mike or no mike. I like the umpires being miked up.
People always complain about the umpiring, and always will - in practically every sport.

I can’t think of a year in memory that people haven’t been upset with the tribunal or MRP.
Soldo one didn’t seem any worse than the gaz hits, probably all could have copped a week or nothing.
Thought Varcoe would cop a week but was really hoping he would get off, not a lot in it and think he...
Pushing a player already face down in the ground would be seen by most people and players as gutless, except maybe some west coast fans

Franklin by far better player, goes without saying. Dogs got the cup and arguable they don’t do it without him - ultimately that’s the number one focus of a club which is why bulldogs wouldn’t see it as a rubbish trade. Both clubs would probably do the same thing again knowing what they know now...
Not sure you should be counting lance’s hawthorn goals when assessing the contracts.
Franklin more valuable obviously, much better player, Boyd largely been disappointing but delivered when he had to.
Dogs got a premiership which is why they got him after all those shortfalls. Swans yet to win...
Unfortunately for Buckley agree with this - the mid-late 90s guns and into early 2000s get a bit dudded in both centuries!! Buckley would be behind swan and Pendles this century at Collingwood but overall better than both.

I will say that the 80s is before my time watching, but he was one of essendons best players of the era and they were one of the best teams of the decade. Would Have to go close to top 20 in the time. All reports I’ve ever heard was he was a gun, don’t think he belongs here.

I get your point but for accuracy only one Shaw won a gf for Collingwood, Reece played in at least one gf loss against Brisbane (with the other Cloke!) - this was before the bidding system so they were all late picks (same with the Geelong boys you mention), Hawkins the big one as he was a top 5...
If Collingwood the AFL team ceased to exist & all the listed players were split amongst the comp and just had the Collingwood vfl team to follow I would not follow them to same extent. Would keep an interest in them but it would fade, follow the afl league still but wouldn’t support anyone but...
Very true, but he’s not alone in being key to the finals victories. Probably helps he played on Goldsack, though I like him isn’t really kpd - he got smashed in every game he played this year! Wc talls were very very good
