I wonder why Houghton, Hall, O'Brien and Crichton are playing ressies? Would that be instructions from Freo to ease them into it? Or just not picked by their WAFL clubs.
I would suggest they will be made to earn their spots in the WAFL which is fair enough. Houghton and Crichton in particular...
I saw the Wiz down at Garden City last night and geez it looks like he has been grazing in the same paddock as Heath Black. He wouldve already added 10kg id reckon. Back to his sons though I think he has two boys the eldest about 12, not sure about his talent though. Surely he would have...
Im with you on this one Plugga:thumbsu: (I saw Kicketty the other day at Duncraig TAB having a punt and he still looks fairly fit too)
I joined up as a Quay club member in September 1994 and sent off my membership to this the day it became available and have a certificate dated 19th September...
I can remember when Monkey Medders was loved, and then two goals a game became not enough, and he had to do more.
I can remember when Clinton Wolf had hair
No way can he kick 100 at 33 years of age particularly as he has never done it before. Would almost be a miracle if he did! If he kicks 60-80 "get on the Dogs" for the flag. Having said that ANY player at his age is probably just one half serious injury away from retirement. He is well wortht he...
I will be very interested to see how Shepheard develops as he seems to have a bit of ability and versatility. Seems he can play ruck, back and forward. We really need a couple (or a couple of dozen ) good talls so would be great if he has a great WAFL season. Well done Shep:thumbsu:
Lets do one up for Geelong, didnt they trade a dual Brownlow Medallist, Norm Smith medallist and all time great Greg Williams to Sydney for basically bugger all in the mid 1980's?
Whats with all the Ibbo hate???? Bugger me I reckon he could be an elite AFL midfielder in a year or two. He is clearly a late developer and has shown some great signs. Yeah ok he isnt elite yet but some are expecting way too much. If this guy was at a club such as Geelong, Bulldogs or St Kilda...
Good post:thumbsu:
I am depressed because I was never drafted to an AFL club:confused:, so I might sue the AFL for not giving me an opportunity. I mean how ridiculous?????
This kind of thing unfortunately shows what the world has come to and how as a society people just cant be happy with their...
Freo have an interesting situation where a number of rookie listed players such as Barlow, Pearce, Van Berlo, Silvagni, De Boer etc are all a big chance to be elevated before the season starts and are all probably in our best 22 or are borderline. So it will be interesting to see what happens in...
Good post:thumbsu:. Scotty T to me has always been a top clubman and has done really well to play 88 AFL games. Considering as someone else said he has never done a pre season and had plenty of injuries as well as Crohns disease I tip my hat to him. Plenty have had a crack at him over the years...
What are you talking about? He didnt play against St Kilda and North Melbourne and to me seemed to go pretty well against Melbourne and kicked 2 or 3 goals which is what we need him to do
A couple of opinions;
1. Kepler will play round 1, Zac Clarke wont
2. McPhee, Schammer, Hase, Crowley need to find some form other wise may not be guaranteed a game (although most will probably play round 1)
3. Silvagni looks good to me and could be a chance, also like the earlier suggestion of...
Hinkley was drafted as a project player and instead of just being developed slowly at WAFL level was thrown in fairly early when his body was just not ready. If he was on Geelongs , Bulldogs, Adelaide etc list no one would have expected anything from him and he would just be developing nicely...
Excellent Post DizzyHB, anyone would think the world has ended the way some are carrying on!
Those that are carrying on like Two Bob watches will wake up tomorrow and go geez its a shame we lost yesterday but lets just bring on round 1 and Adelaide
I will be very interested to see how Medhurst goes this year. His first 2 years at Freo were brilliant then two fairly poor ones. Then first two years at Collingwood were brilliant as well then poor last year. I know some will say he injuries last year blah blah but I really think the pressure...
Peake instead of Eddy???? Is Eddy that bad? If your relying on him to improve your team then you may be in for a rude shock.
Watch him turn it over regularly and slip and slid and fall over especially when the going gets tough. He wont be able to handle surface at Etihad mark my words
He is a...
Mate Clive was number 26 now worn by the great man Kepler Bradley:eek:.
At Freo I dont think current number 6 Greg Broughton will ever live up to Phil Gilberts exploits:D
Agree completely hopefully though he wants to stay with us for 2 or 3 more years and not go back to Melbourne. If the club has a good year this year hopefully that will sway him. If he wants to stay I would offer him year by year contact on good $$$ with incentives. He deserves to be one of the...
Grover will struggle to be in best 22 this year, especially now he is injured.
Taz hopefully if we have a good season as a club will re-sign maybe on a year by year deal
The club looks to have done well building our depth in the last couple of drafts. Ridiculous post, I am more than happy to...
Its pretty simple really I think. If ANY player has even the slightest niggle he shouldnt play (Mundy may fall into this category and maybe a few others). Those that have played the majority of games so far should either play half a game, be super subs or be used sparingly. (Sandi, Hill...
