Hmm, I used a bad example. Let's just use the example of a player X who had just been delisted. Player X would have the option of going into the National and/or Pre-Season draft. Why would Player X want to go through the National Draft?

So I guess someone like Ball, if he entered the National Draft would bank on clubs that may have late picks to draft him? As opposed to going through the Pre-season draft and being snapped up by Melbourne?

For out of contract players like Luke Ball, I think he has the option of going in the National Draft and/or the Pre-season draft. Why would players like him even want to go to the National Draft though? Aren't there restrictions on salaries for draftees from the National Draft?
